Last January 2016, after 10 looong months of online dating and many dates that did not work out, a handsome man popped up at the top of my matches. I quickly winked and then the next day I was excited to find an e-mail from him in my inbox! (Jason here, Sarah is being very kind by calling my e-mail an e-mail. I'm sure it was more along the lines of a dissertation, or Moby Dick. Anyway...) After e-mailing and texting daily for a few weeks, we finally met for our first date on February 6th, 2016 at Matt the Miller's (an area restaurant). I was incredibly nervous and super awkward. Although I thought that Jason was so cute and kind and funny(I agree to these statements :), I drove away knowing that I had blown it and that he'd never call. I was so surprised and excited when I received a text from him before I even got home telling me what a wonderful time he had and asking me out on a second date! We went out on a second date a few days later and the rest is history! Jason here: well we did go to a bunch of amazing places like Hocking Hills, Key West, and Austin...but yeah it's been fantastic!

On Christmas Day, Jason and I had a holiday brunch and gift opening with my family, then packed the car up and drove all the way back to Columbus, and proceeded to go directly to his parents' house to celebrate Christmas with his family. Finally we were on our way home that night and Jason suggested that we drive downtown to walk around and look at all the lights. I gave him a look and thought, 'Are you kidding me?!' I was exhausted and the last thing I wanted to do was look at lights. I just wanted to be home in bed! He was able to convince me to go because the temperature had been steadily rising throughout the day and it was quite warm for the end of December. When we got downtown, I was stunned by how beautiful it was! We were enjoying walking around when suddenly I felt him tug my hand. I stopped and looked at him like 'What?' When he didn't respond right away I turned and went to keep walking! Then he tugged on my hand again and when I turned around he got down on one knee and had a beautiful ring displayed before me! Needless to say, I was VERY happy that I had relented and agreed to go downtown that night. :-)
