It was January 2021, still in the height of a global pandemic where social interaction with new people was minimal. Kevin had just moved home after completing his Masters program in Minnesota. Sarah was living in San Francisco with two of her best friends. To deal with the lack of face-to-face interaction, Kevin and Sarah took to a dating app called Hinge.

After a few previous frustrating experiences, Sarah deleted Hinge for a few months and was convinced she would find her future husband another way. Shortly after the New Year, she decided to give Hinge one more shot and, low and behold, a handsome gentlemen named Kevin threw her a "like". Meanwhile in El Cerrito, after sending this "like", Kevin waited patiently for a response that Sarah would ultimately reply to...two days later. But nonetheless, they began chatting and planned a date to North Beach's most famous pizza joint, Tony's.

The day of the first date arrived providing quite a suspense. San Francisco is known for it's many steep hills and limited parking. Sarah's apartment was at the top of one of those hills (Lombard Street to be exact). Kevin, not knowing what was in store for him, hiked up Lombard Street to get to the very woman who would become his wife. Meanwhile, inside her apartment, Sarah was overcome with skepticism and wondering why she was putting herself through this again. But to her surprise, it would be well worth it. As you could have guessed, the date was a success and as they say, "the rest is history!"

Fast forward exactly 2 years later, Kevin brought Sarah back to the very bench at Washington Square Park that they sat on waiting for a table at Tony's Pizza on their first date. Sarah thought they were going to an anniversary dinner but as they walked through the park, Kevin stopped her right at the bench and she began to realize something else was happening. Kevin got down on one knee and asked for her hand in marriage, which Sarah responded with a resounding "YES!!". In addition to this pleasant surprise, Kevin and Sarah drove to her hometown in San Carlos where her family and closest friends were eagerly waiting to celebrate the engagement, making it a night to remember.

Kevin and Sarah are very much excited for the next chapter of their lives together, and can't wait to celebrate with their friends and families on July 20th, 2024, at the beautiful Chalet View Lodge in Graeagle, CA. Hope to see you there!
