Who should I contact with questions?
Before the big weekend, feel free to text or call Sarah or Joshua with any questions! Once the wedding weekend is here, we’ll be busy with festivities and final prep, so we likely won't be able to respond. Please check this website instead for any info you need!
Sarah: 262-352-1999
Joshua: 314-956-2575
Can I bring a guest or my children?
Please refer to your invitation and RSVP details for who is included. While we wish we could celebrate with everyone, our guest list is limited. Only those listed on the invitation are invited — including plus ones and children. We so appreciate your understanding!
What time should I arrive for the ceremony?
Our ceremony will begin promptly at 4:30 PM. We ask that guests arrive and be seated by 4:15 PM so we can get started right on time.
What time does the ceremony end?
The reception will wrap up at 11pm. We can't wait to dance and celebrate with you, just be sure to plan your ride home accordingly!
What should I know about transportation and parking?
Guests are responsible for their own transportation. Free parking is available onsite, and cars may be left overnight. Space is limited, so most will need to park along the street and walk a bit. Please leave the front lot open for guests who need closer access. Prefer not to drive? Carpool or Uber! A detailed parking map is on the Travel tab.
Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?
Our ceremony will take place outdoors. The reception will be a mix of indoor and outdoor spaces, with cozy spots, games, and even short trails to explore until sunset.
If there's just a light drizzle, we’ll still say “I do” under the trees, but we’ll move inside for extreme weather. Check the forecast and bring an umbrella or cute raincoat just in case!
What should I wear?
Cocktail attire, please! We'd love for folks to play into the garden party style. Think bright, colorful, festive, and floral. Play with prints, colors, and textures that feel fun, but most of all, wear what makes you feel confident and comfortable. Since the ceremony is outdoors and there are grassy trails, lawn-friendly shoes are a very great idea.
Can I take photos during the ceremony?
We kindly ask that guests skip photos during the ceremony so everyone can be present and our photographers can do their thing without distractions. Afterward, snap away! We’ll also share professional photos with everyone after the wedding so you can relive and enjoy the day.
I hear you're having a cocktail style reception - what does that mean?
Great question! Instead of a traditional sit-down dinner with assigned tables, we’re keeping things a little more relaxed and interactive. There won’t be a formal meal service or table assignments, but there will be PLENTY of delicious food offered throughout the evening.
We’re serving elevated, easy-to-enjoy bites from themed food stations that you can grab at your leisure — and yes, you’re welcome to go back for more as often as you'd like! There will be enough seating both indoors and outdoors, so you can settle in when you’d like or roam the trails, play some games, and mingle with us and other guests.
We really wanted the evening to feel like a fun, social celebration where everyone can eat, explore, and connect without the structure of a traditional dinner.
Are there special accommodations for guests with dietary restrictions?
Absolutely! Just note any dietary needs (gluten-free, vegetarian, vegan, etc.) when you RSVP. We’ll have three themed food stations with plenty of flexible options for everyone to enjoy.
What drinks will be served? Can I bring my own?
We’ll be serving wine, beer, a few select cocktails, soda, and water during the reception. Outside drinks aren’t allowed, and while it’s not a full open bar, the drinks are on us and we’ve made sure there’s something for everyone to enjoy!
I am coming from out of town. Where should I stay?
Check the Travel tab for details on hotel blocks. There are also plenty of other options nearby in Monona and Madison if you prefer.
Is there anything else I should know?
Yes! The Aldo Leopold Nature Center is all about sustainability, and we’re excited to reflect that in our celebration. Please also note that ALNC is a smoke- and vape-free campus. Thanks for helping us respect the space and enjoy the natural setting!
