Hikes We Love
Bear Creek Trail
Difficulty: Easy, Family Friendly
Length: 8 miles out and back
Travel: ~40 minutes outside of Denver
Notes: This is a beautiful, easy hiking trail which follows multiple streams throughout. We typically do about 3 miles round trip. The parking lot is small, so go early in the morning if you don't want to wait for a spot!
Mount Vernon Creek Trail Loop
Difficulty: Easy
Length: 2.3 mile loop
Travel: ~ 20 minutes outside Denver
Notes: Great up-close views of the famous rock formations. I would recommend wearing shoes with good tread as there are sandy/rocky spots.
Red Rocks Trading Post Trail
Difficulty: Moderate
Length: 1.6 mile loop
Travel: ~ 20 minutes outside Denver
Devil's Head Lookout
Difficulty: Moderate
Length: 2.8 miles out and back
Travel: ~1 hour outside Denver
Notes: Easy-moderate uphill climb with amazing vistas. To reach the fire lookout you will need to climb several flights of steep metal stairs - but it's worth it! (P.S this is where we got engaged!) We recommend a 4 wheel drive vehicle to reach the trail head as the road is steep and narrow.
