Bus Service for Wedding Events

Due to the Thunder Over Louisville air show and fireworks display, we expect there to be significantly more traffic than usual in and around Louisville. As such, we've made arrangements for several shuttles and buses to simplify travel between events on the day of our wedding.&nbsp; If you are staying overnight, we strongly encourage you to take advantage of these shuttles to avoid any traffic delays. If you did not RSVP "yes" for transportation, please contact us ASAP so we can make sure we have an accurate headcount. Buses will start loading guests on a first-come, first-serve basis on the following schedule; buses will depart 5–15 minutes after these loading times: 11:45 am - Downtown Louisville Hilton Garden Inn to Ascension Parish2:15 pm - Ascension Parish to Copper &amp; Kings Distillery4:00 pm - Copper &amp; Kings Distillery to Peterson-Dumesnil House9:15 pm - Peterson-Dumesnil House to Downtown Louisville Hilton Garden Inn

Parking

If you're driving yourself between events, parking is available at the following locations. Welcome PartyWest Sixth Brewing NuLu, 817 E. Market St.Parking is limited and the venue recommends ride-sharing or car-pooling, but there is some on-site parking as well as a garage at 826 E. Main St. Street parking is generally available on Main St. or Market St. Wedding CeremonyAscension Catholic Parish, 4600 Lynbrook Dr.The church has ample on-site parking in its parking lot, and there is overflow parking available on the school side of the parish. Distillery TourCopper &amp; Kings Distillery, 1121 E. Washington St.There is a small parking lot in front of the distillery and some street parking on nearby streets. With Thunder Over Louisville there may be less parking than usual. Wedding ReceptionPeterson-Dumesnil House, 301 S. Peterson Ave.There is street parking on Peterson Ave. and the surrounding side streets. We are also able to use Barret Middle School's parking lot (see map below for parking guidance). Please do not park in the driveway, as P-D House needs to keep it open for pick-ups and drop-offs.

Please do not book in Indiana! The bridges to Louisville will be closed for the air show and fireworks for Thunder over Louisville on 4/23/22. We have organized for day-of bus service at the Downtown Louisville Hilton Garden Inn to avoid traffic delays due to the air show and fireworks; please see the <a href="https://www.theknot.com/us/sarah-buntin-and-matt-policastro-apr-2022/day-of-bus-service-parking" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Day-of Bus Service &amp; Parking page</a> for details.We have not arranged for hotel blocks, so please feel free to book wherever you feel most comfortable.

This hotel will be a little bit further away from the other hotel options, but is still a great location.

Louisville Marriott Downtown

Located in the heart of downtown, 21c hotel features a free art museum. All you need to do is check in at the front desk, let them know you'd like to explore some art, and then walk about the exhibits in the hotel's main floor and basement. It's a perfect short diversion for that time between the wedding and reception, and is good for all ages. [Tip from Sarah: Be sure to check out their interactive alphabet display by the elevators and the outdoor cloud machine - visible near the entrance and from a close-up viewing window in the basement near the gym].

21C Art Museum

If the weather cooperates, walking the Big Four Bridge is a great way to see the city. Located in Louisville's Waterfront park, the Big Four Bridge stretches across the river to quaint little Jeffersonville, IN. You might stretch your legs and take in the view of Louisville's skyline during that 'in-between' wedding-reception period (but budget ample time - 1.5 hr.+ -Thunder over Louisville takes place the evening of 4/23, so there'll be some crowds). Or, if you're in town a while, you might time your walk for sunset. Once the sun goes down, the bridge hosts an impressive light display. Walking the Big Four was one of Matt and Sarah's favorite dates, and we highly recommend you check it out!

Big Four Bridge

For those of drinking age and persuasion...Bourbon is what Louisville is known for. It's the start of the Bourbon Trail (in the Frazier Museum downtown), and the city hosts multiple distilleries and tasting bars. If bourbon isn't your thing - don't fret! There's a host of places to get great beer, wine, and other spirits. Your options might be overwhelming honestly. Louisville has some cute neighborhoods - little pockets that are fun to walk around or even shop. If you are looking to look around, the link will take you to a neighborhood guide. For quick reference, here's a short list of stops &amp; shops that are close to our wedding events:Clifton/Crescent Hill Area-Frankfort Ave: Start at Story Ave &amp; walk East. Frankfort Ave is home to many locally-owned, eclectic shops.-Mellwood Art CenterButchertown Area-Lower Story Ave: Find parking near the Butchertown Grocery. There's a handful of little stops around here. The Elephant in the Room

While things have gotten much better in recent months, the health and safety of our family and friends still takes precedence.&nbsp;We're closely following recommended precautions and procedures, but the "too long, didn't read" version: we strongly encourage social distancing and masking indoors and on buses, and for all guests to be vaccinated.

For indoor events (e.g. the wedding mass and bus service), we strongly encourage mask wearing and social distancing where possible.

Outdoor Events

For outdoor events (e.g. the reception), we're hopeful that fair weather will make it easier for folks to spread out and enjoy the evening.
