On June 28, Dennis picked me up for what I thought was brunch with some friends. My best friend had been in town and had just left that morning (or so I thought) and she thankfully convinced me to not wear biker shorts and a t-shirt for brunch!

Dennis missed the turn for the restaurant we were supposedly meeting his friends at. That's when he told me we weren't going to that restaurant. At that moment, I was trying to not freak out in the passenger seat, because I suspected what was coming! We both just talked casually, pretending like we didn't know what was about to happen. Dennis drove us to White Rock Lake, where he originally asked me to be his girlfriend. We parked, and he took me out to the pier and got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. Through tears of joy, I said yes!

He had set up for one of my dear friends to take photos of the whole event, and we stayed and took some more photos together as an engaged couple. Then he took me back to my house so I could change clothes for "lunch plans" he made. I very quickly got presentable, and we drove to my favorite restaurant where all our friends and family were for a surprise engagement party! Even his family flew all the way down from Ohio to be there with us!

Throughout this journey, the amount if people that have loved and supported us has been so overwhelming. To see everyone all together cheering us on meant the world to us. We are so excited to start this new chapter of our lives together and to continue to grow in our love for each other every day!
