When & where is the wedding?
We are getting married in Costa Rica on April 4th, 2025, at a property tucked away in the jungle in Bejuco. We, along with many of our wedding guests, are flying from Charlottetown on April 2nd, arriving at Liberia Airport (Daniel Oduber Quirós International Airport) at 1:30 pm that same day.
We are staying at a property called "Pura Vida Casas - Del Pacifico Ranch." The wedding and reception will take place here on this property. Get your dancing shoes ready!
Why we chose this venue
We chose to stay in Bejuco because we fell in love with the villas. They offer the perfect amount of privacy and togetherness while being situated on a property that is surrounded by the jungle. The property has many amenities, including pools and rooftop patios with lots of room to sit back and relax! Please refer to the "Pura Vida Casas" tab to visit the website. ***Note the villas have been reserved for us and our immediate family/few friends***.
HOW TO DECIDE WHERE TO STAY?
1. Bejuco is a quiet beach town situated between Jaco and Manuel Antonio. Bejuco is known to be less touristy and out of the hustle and bustle. You can walk for miles on the dark sand beach while you take in surfers riding waves. There are several restaurants as well as a grocery store right in Bejuco. If you're looking to stay in a tranquil jungle town and want to be very close to the wedding venue, with some time to kick back and relax, Bejuco could be a great spot for you! Bejuco is perfect for those looking for a quiet retreat while still being within reach of more lively towns like Jacó.
2. Jaco is located 30 minutes away from Bejuco and is known for its surfing and nightlife. This town is much busier than Bejuco and has a variety of restaurants, bars, and shops, making it a great spot for those looking for more upbeat surroundings.
3. Manual Antonio is 50 minutes away from Bejuco and is known to be a popular tourist destination. The National Park here combines lush rainforests with white sand beaches. We plan to arrange a catamaran tour in this area the day after the wedding for those interested. Please see “Things to do” tab for additional info.
Some people are planning to stay nearby the whole time we are in Bejuco (April 2nd - April 6th). Others plan to come for the wedding celebrations and then take off to other areas of Costa Rica! Ultimately, we just want our guests to stay wherever they are happiest. After all, this is just a great excuse for a vacation for you too!
Where else in Costa Rica do you recommend checking out?
While we were in Costa Rica for 2 weeks we went to La Fortuna, Monteverde, Manuel Antonio, and Corcovado. We would recommend them all as they all have great things to offer!! Please see “THINGS TO DO” tab for more info.
Tamarindo is the largest beach town only about an hour away from Liberia airport. A lot of our wedding guests plan to go here after Bejuco, and will likely stay for a few days before flying home.
How do I get to Bejuco?
Some guests will be renting a vehicle at the airport. Rental cars are relatively cheap online, however it is recommended to book a vehicle (in advance) that has all wheel drive if you plan on exploring.
We are working with our wedding planner in Costa Rica to organize two 32-passenger shuttle buses for our guests to use if they wish on April 2nd (the day majoirty of guests arrive). The shuttle bus ride from Liberia Airport to Bejuco is approximately 3.5 hours with plans to leave Liberia airport in the afternoon on April 2nd.
The shuttles will drop you off at your accomodations in or near Bejuco. Please ensure you let us know by January 24th to book your seat on the shuttle bus. We will also need your flight info/itinerary via email including arrival time as well as the address of where you will be staying in/near Bejuco. ** Please complete "General Questions under RSVP tab**.
Pricing and timelines for the shuttle bus will follow after we have confirmed numbers.
What currency do I need in Costa Rica?
The official currency of Costa Rica is the Costa Rican Colón (CRC). However, the U.S. dollar (USD) is widely accepted in many places, especially in tourist areas. It's a good idea to bring U.S. dollars with you to Costa Rica. Majority of places will also accept Visa, Mastercard, AMEX, etc.
Looking to book a fun adventure?
Our wedding coordinator is organizing a catamaran tour on April 5th in the afternoon (the day after the wedding) for those interested in booking. The Catamaran will leave from Quepos touring all around Manuel Antonio, a beautiful beach town and National Park. We are still finalizing the details on this reservation, so stay tuned for more info on booking your sunset catamaran tour! Please complete "Guest Questionnaire on the RSVP tab** to indicate if you are interested or not. Pricing and details to follow once we know how many are interested!
What should I wear to the wedding?
The attire will be semi-formal/ cocktail style.
For the gals, think midi dress, strapless, satin, fun colours, etc! Have fun with it since we want our guests to be comfortable. For the guys a suit, or collared dress shirt and dress pants. No jeans please!
Can I bring someone else to the wedding with me?
We are having a small intimate wedding, and are so grateful for those travelling to another country to celebrate with us! Our wedding day will be a celebration by invitation only. To confirm if you have a plus one, they will be specifically named on the invitation/RSVP option. Athough we also love all the little ones in our family, this is an adults only event.
