Our story

It started with a swipe. For Brandon, it was her smile, all the fishing photos she had, and a bio that screamed adventure. For Sarah, it was his rugged charm, the dirt bike photos, and his love for the outdoors.

Brandon’s first message to Sarah was, “Let me take you fishing sometime.”

It wasn’t until three years later that he finally did—on a family trip to Wisconsin.

Their first date wasn’t dinner and a movie. Instead, Sarah received a text from Brandon after about a week of talking, asking if she wanted to go to Torch Lake with him and a few of his buddies. Without really knowing Brandon, she said yes!

Sarah texted her mom and dad: “Hey, I just met this guy. He’s going to pick me up from Captain Lou’s, and I’m going to Torch Lake for the weekend.” They were both a little hesitant about Sarah going away with a random guy and his friends.

Come that Friday, Sarah had just finished her shift when Brandon showed up—truck loaded and boat ready to go. As Sarah walked out, Zoey came up to the truck first to meet him and make sure she wasn’t about to get kidnapped!

After their first trip, Brandon and Sarah spent every weekend together. They went on more trips, made lasting memories, and simply enjoyed each other’s company. On November 20, 2020, Brandon took Sarah to downtown Indianapolis for a weekend getaway, and it was there that he asked her to be his girlfriend.

Time went on, and Brandon and Sarah continued to grow together—spending time with friends, going on trips, and working toward their future goals. As the summer of 2021 rolled around, they decided that, even though they were still living with their parents, it was time to add a dog to the mix. That’s when they got Baylee! While both sets of parents agreed Baylee was adorable, neither of them was thrilled about having another dog in the house. This ultimately led Brandon and Sarah to start house hunting. On October 19, 2021, they purchased their first home together and began the next chapter of their lives!

After a few months in their new home, they felt it was time to get Baylee a sister. Sarah had always wanted a Doberman Pinscher. She came across “Mocha” — a Doberman Pinscher and Great Dane mix — and wanted to meet her. Brandon and Sarah drove a few hours away and immediately fell in love. Mocha was energetic, loving, and loved to give kisses!

After a week in their home, Mocha didn’t seem quite right. That’s when they decided to rename her Sadiee. She fit into the family perfectly!

With many playdates at the beach, trips to friends’ houses, and bringing their dogs everywhere they went, they wanted to do even more with their fur kids. Brandon’s mom, Angie, had a love for camping. After visiting her a few times at various campgrounds, they decided it was time to get a camper of their own and join her on adventures!

They bought their first pop-up camper in the summer of 2022. After many fun camping trips, they realized it was time for an upgrade. In the spring of 2023, they purchased a pull-behind camper and completely renovated the interior—only to discover that it would last just a few months before the side of the camper began separating from the frame!

After selling their pull-behind camper, Brandon and Sarah had a week-long camping trip planned to the Upper Peninsula. They were on a time crunch to find a new camper to take—and that’s when they found the perfect one: a fifth wheel! It quickly became their favorite, and they made many memories in it—trips, holidays, and birthdays alike.

One of their best trips was to Potato Creek for Brandon’s 23rd birthday. While Sarah was busy planning his birthday party, Brandon was secretly working on something even bigger—his proposal!

On Saturday, October 28, 2023, Sarah was setting up food and decorations for friends and family to celebrate Brandon’s birthday. Meanwhile, Brandon was doing his best to avoid her as he prepared the “boo box” and worked up the courage to propose.

That afternoon, once everyone had arrived, Brandon asked Sarah to open the boo box in front of everyone. At the bottom was a note that read, “Will you marry me?” Sarah turned around to find Brandon down on one knee—and of course, she said YES!!!
