Once upon a time...
Sarah and Jason met like so many others--online.
The major difference is that neither one of us were looking for love; we were both just responding to a post online. Each of us was simply looking for some outside conversation in the midst of the 2020 pandemic.
We were glad to have someone who seemed to understand us, and the more we talked the more we realized that going a day without talking took something wonderful away from our lives. Something joyous, loving, and simply right was gone if we didn't have the other to talk to.
So we made it official!
For three years, we were long-distance. Near daily video chats made it easier to cope with the 10 hour distance from Oklahoma to Louisiana. We had movie nights, video games, and several weeks of Sarah (hi, it's me!) searching for a Louisiana job while Jason (very patiently) listened to her rewrite resumes and cover letters. The wait was nearly unbearable.
The good thing about waiting for something is that at some point you get to the doing part. In June of 2023, Jason proposed (on a mountain in the snow) and two weeks later, Sarah was moved to New Orleans.
As of now, we haven't made it to the "ever after" bit of the story, but you are reading this on a wedding website, so you know we're working on it. We are, however, very much to the "happily" part...and that's what counts, anyway!
