We're so excited to share the weekend at Norris Lake!

When should I arrive?

If possible, we recommend arriving on Thursday or Friday morning to fully enjoy the weekend. The drive to the lake is on a curvy mountain road, so we strongly suggest arriving early and driving before dark. With the distance and potential time zone changes, this will allow time to travel during daylight, settle in, and explore the area before Friday's welcome dinner.

Knoxville Airport (TYS)

Knoxville airport (TYS) is about 1.5 hours from Deerfield Resort, where we recommend guests stay for the weekend. If extending your stay, you can also consider flying in or out of Nashville (BNA). The drive from Nashville to the lake is about 4 hours. Please note Knoxville and the wedding activities are on Eastern time, while Nashville is on Central time.

Car Rentals

We advise renting a car to make the most of your mountain weekend. Numerous rental car companies are available at TYS and throughout the Knoxville area. If travel plans align, sharing a car with family and friends can be a great option. We suggest booking your rental in advance, especially with football season underway.


Please note Deerfield Resort is nestled in the Smoky Mountains, and rideshare companies such as Uber and Lyft have limited service in the area.

Only joining us for the day?

While we hope you can join us for the weekend, in the event you can only join us for the day, there are many hotel options closer to The Loyston wedding venue in downtown Andersonville or downtown Knoxville. One option halfway between the welcome dinner and the wedding venue is the Hampton Inn Caryville-I-75/Cove Lake-State Park.
