Our Wedding

We met in August of 2014 at Northern Arizona University. Michael had his door open during move in weekend when Sarah and her friend passed by. Sarah’s friend thought he was cute and wanted to go say hi. Sarah wanted nothing to do with Michael but went anyways. We clicked instantly and were the best of friends for 2 years before any prospects of a relationship came to be. After we both graduated with our Bachelor’s degrees, we began dating.  After spending entirely too much time together during the pandemic, Michael decided that proposing to Sarah would be a great idea. In May of 2022, Sarah graduated with her Masters degree and Michael proposed back at NAU. The rest is history.

I am an absolute lover of animals and music. I spend my free time playing with my two fur babies, Blue and Oni, as well as listening to as much music as I possibly can. Sarah and I used to share a room together, until we got a bit older and she became a bratty teenager and wanted nothing to do with me. That hasn’t changed, she is still a brat. I know the bride because she is my sister, and the groom is, obviously, marrying my sister. Finally. She wanted a brother, but instead she got a little sister who ended up being taller than her.

Ricky is a girl dad, husband, dog lover, softball coach, baseball player, amateur chef, and friend to all. 

Hailing from the Lehigh Valley, Ricky is Michael’s favorite brother, first friend, sibling rival, biggest fan, and best man.

Originally an East Coast girl, I moved to Arizona for college and somehow never left. Now, I teach 5th and 6th grade math (I know, brave, right?). I met Sarah six years ago during my first year teaching, and she was an absolute godsend. She quickly became my go-to person for everything—from venting after a tough day to, you know, the more hypothetical situations (like hiding a body). I’m so excited I get to be here for her on the big day!

Husband, dog dad, theater instructor, instrument collector, and friend to all. Tony is a one of kind friend! Since meeting day one of freshmen year of high school, Michael and Tony have hardly had a day where they did not talk. The couple could not be more thrilled to have Tony as their officiant on their special day!

I am enjoying being a mom to my son, Masen. I like to snowboard, hike, and cook. I am always down for an adventure. I met Sarah at NAU in 2015 in our education cohort and she introduced me to my husband, Austen, who was roommates with Mike. Mike was the officiant at our wedding.

Tori Christensen

I'm the grooms college roommate. I met the groom a few days after he met his bride. I like to say that I had a front row seat to watching their relationship grow from two college kids, who met in a dorm room, to a beautiful couple that is about to get married!! They both (mostly Sarah) introduced me to my wife. We've stayed close since college and even went to the 2023 NLCS Game 3 together! Mike was the officiant at our wedding and I look forward to being apart of his big day!!

Austen Christensen

Jessica is a kick ass mom and wife. She loves adventures and isn’t afraid to get her hands dirty. While Jessica and Michael were friends in high school, we know the real reason they stayed friends is because Sarah and Jess were meant to be friends all along. From camping to painting bedrooms, there’s no telling what adventures (or misadventures) they will get into!
