Sarah and Nick first met at the end of 2017 in Sarah’s hometown of Dripping Springs at a local favorite restaurant, Homespun. Being friends with some of the staff there Sarah went alone one evening after work to relax, only to be asked by a neighboring table of two guys to come join them. Upon declining the first time, Nick asked the server to invite Sarah again, his confidence being boosted by the fact that the Astros were winning the play off game that night of course. She finally decided it wouldn’t hurt to take him up on the offer, and we’ll say the rest is history from there!
Throughout their time dating, they enjoyed most of their days together, doing everything from going on beach trips to Galveston, hunting down the best local restaurants to share their love of good food, attending football, basketball and especially baseball games, daily quarantine runs around the neighborhood, and getting to know each others family and friends. They quickly realized how well they fit together, and just how much they completed each other through consistent support and unconditional love.
Four and a half years later in May of 2022, Nick executed his grand plan. For Sarah’s birthday, being a master at gift giving, Nick made the whole week about her, with an entire spa day and ending the week with a “new members tour” at a local winery. Being her birthday Sarah was very unassuming. On Saturday the 21st they arrived at the Signor Winery at 10am. Little did Sarah know, Nick had rented the entire winery before they opened so they had privacy. They took a few photos together and walked around the grounds while the morning weather was still enjoyable and cool, the winery grounds were gorgeously manicured with flowering plants and greenery, it was the perfect morning! As they strolled up the walk way under the archway Sarah heard a song she had previously told Nick reminded her of him and how the song was describing the perfect, kind hearted man (The Good Ones by Gabby Barrett). Nick took her by the hand and led her to stand under an arch of blooming vines, he held her then dropped to one knee and pulled out the ring! Sarah replied with the fastest and easiest YES of her life! Both Nick and Sarah’s family joined them there in support and celebration of their engagement day! It was a beautiful day that will always be remembered.
We are so excited to share the celebration of our new lives together on our special day with you all, whether in person or in thought, we are grateful for you!
