In October of 2023, Sarah had an incredibly terrible first date. Well, terrible might not even cover how bad this date was...but it was bad enough for Sarah to swear off all men and online dating. Right before she was going to hit "delete" on Hinge, she got a sassy comment from a guy named "Kyle" on her selfie taken in her classroom.

He said, "What did you do to land on the dark side of music?"

"Who in the heck does he think he is to say that about MY profession!?" Sarah thought

One thing lead to another and the next day, Kyle asked Sarah on a first date. He took Sarah to Purdue University, in West Lafayette, Indiana, to go on a walk, talk, and get to know each other.

3 hours later and an awkward one armed hug, they went their separate ways.

Sarah got into her car and immediately called Grace, her best friend and matron of honor. Debriefed every detail of the date and Grace said, "You have to give him another shot. Quit sabotaging and enjoy the process."

Needless to say, Grace was right.

One year later on October 4, 2024, Kyle took Sarah and his son, Arlo, back to Purdue University for a walk. Kyle proposed in the exact spot by the fountain where they spent the most time talking on that first date. He gave Arlo his phone to take pictures of the proposal, looked at Sarah and got down on one knee.

The couple has one picture to commemorate the occasion, Arlo's selfie. Arlo was so excited to get the phone, that he took a selfie during the proposal!! It's the absolute BEST picture and Sarah and Kyle wouldn't have it any other way.

Sarah and Kyle (with Arlo) look forward to many more years of love and laughter together. They would like to thank all of their loved ones for going on this journey of marriage with them.
