Jonathan and Sarah met in 6th grade at Helena Middle School. For Jonathan, it was love at first sight. For Sarah, it took sometime. In fact, Jonathan asked Sarah out THREE TIMES! Finally, Sarah decided to give the “weirdo” a chance. She quickly learned that Jonathan is one of the most genuine people she ever met. From that day on, Jonathan and Sarah never left each other’s side. From navigating middle school and high school to graduating together and moving in together, they’ve faced all these challenges head on, always united. While Sarah always knew she wanted to marry Jonathan. Jonathan took some time because he wanted to make sure he could support her in sickness and in health. Jonathan describes the moment he realized he was ready to propose: “It was when Sarah was recovering from her second ankle ligament surgery. She needed help taking a bath and as I was helping wash her hair, I realized I could take care of her for the rest of our lives and be happy. Sarah really was the one.” Then came the daunting process of asking Sarah’s dad, James, for her hand in marriage. It took him nearly two hours to muster the strength to ask James to which he replied with “ It took you long enough!” Jonathan then asked for help from his friends and started learning the lyrics to “Past Lives” by Kesha. Then came Valentine’s Day and he was ready to enact his plan: Jonathan drove Sarah to the place they first shared a kiss and sang her “Past Lives” and then got down on one knee and popped the question and well, the rest is history!
