Our story begins with a key and challah. On April 29th, I (Sarah) attended a friend’s birthday party where we made shissel challah (or challah shaped like a key), that is meant bring good fortune, and ideally brings good luck to help you find your husband! I put the key in the challah and prayed. 2 days later, Corey messaged me online.
We corresponded for 2 weeks before we met, writing what we jokingly call “love letters” because they were long back and forth messages where we got to know each other. We set our first date for Thursday, May 12th at Yamato - all you can eat sushi of course! (For us, it just made sense).
We laughed a lot on our first date, and there was a spark. We decided to go for a walk after dinner and we kissed for the first time in Boston Commons. We walked all the way to ink block from Back Bay and decided to call it a night there …we actually got lost (again, just makes sense for us 😂). I am so grateful for that night, the beginning of our life together!
