The dress code for our wedding is semi-formal.
No holes. No t-shirts. Please do not wear white. Women example: rompers, dresses, slacks/blouses. Men example: suits, slacks/dress shirts.
Where are the ceremony and the reception taking place?
The ceremony will be held at 4:30 p.m. The reception will immediately follow. Both will be held at the Illinois State Fairgrounds in Springfield, IL - Orr Building.
What happens after the ceremony?
After the ceremony, the bridal party will be taking pictures nearby for about an hour with family. Guests can head straight into the reception hall where beverages will be served.
Are kids welcome?
While we love all of your little ones, our wedding is going to be a "children related to the bride and groom" event. We appreciate you making arrangements ahead of time and leaving the kids at home so you can celebrate with us. Please refer to your invitation.
Can I bring a date?
Our wedding is strictly RSVP only. We will only be able to accommodate those listed on your invitation/The Knot RSVP. If you feel like we have forgotten someone that you believe should be invited please reach out to us.
Is there parking available at the wedding venue? Transportation?
Yes! There will parking for our guests in the parking lot of the Orr Building. We also will be having a shuttle service to and from the Crowne Plaza. Please remember if you are staying at any other location, the shuttle only stops at the Crowne Plaza. Uber and Lyft are also available in Springfield.
Can I take pictures during the ceremony to post on social media?
Our ceremony will be an unplugged ceremony. Once you arrive at the wedding venue please shut down all phones and put away cameras. We want to see your faces not your devices.
When do I need to book my room? How do I book my room?
If you are staying at the Crowne Plaza and are wanting to use the wedding code, please book your room by September 5th, 2022. You can book your room at www.ihg.com/crowneplaza/hotels. The code for a discounted rate is C4H.
What should I do if I can’t make it?
You will be missed! If you can not make it to the wedding, please let us know as soon as possible and RSVP “no,” so we can plan accordingly.
