Our story begins in the year 2016, Sarah had come home from university for the weekend, her big brother Joe and soon to be sister in-law (at the time) Stephanie had invited her out to a stag and doe in Shedden. That same night, Kyle (unknown and a complete stranger to Sarah) made plans to go to that same stag and doe with a group of his own friends.

While at the stag and doe drinks were had and games were played, including a game that involved changing a tire, arranging wrenches , and taking nuts off of threaded rod. At one point in the night both Sarah and Kyle found them selves at the drink mix table.

If you ask Sarah the story, she was trying to make a whiskey water when Kyle took the water basically out of her hand and poured it into his own cup. Then she grabbed the water poured it into her own and went about her night.

Kyle tells a different story, he was going to make a whiskey water and simply grabbed a water and poured it into his cup. While he was pouring his water this girl beside him kept making impatient noises. When he returned the water to the table she snatched it quickly and poured it into his cup. Kyle watched in awe as this girl was also making a whiskey water, one of his favourite drinks.

Sarah continued about her night, having drinks and playing games with her friends. Kyle however decided to chat with one of Sarah's friends, Karley McConnell to find out who she was.

Only slightly later in the night, Kyle used the line "My name is Kyle, I didn't catch yours." However, he did know her name as he had already talked with Karley. This was the start to exchanging numbers and agreeing to go on a date only a few short weeks later when Sarah was home again from university for both her birthday and reading week.

Flash forward to April of 2022. Kyle and Sarah had been to countless weddings together, gone on countless dates, traveled together, experienced the briths of many nieces and nephews, lived together in Sarah's grandparents home, and had their first furbaby (Dolly). Kyle had asked Sarah to go on a walk at his grandparents farm to go shed hunting (Deer antler hunting). During the walk Sarah attempted to keep up as best she could but fell behind slightly compared to Kyle. At some point in their walk Sarah fell over a log and looked up to see Kyle awkwardly standing in a somewhat open area. He had taken off his sweater and backpack and told her he was waiting, even when Sarah said "I'm fine, go ahead without me".

As Sarah walked over she noticed the trail camera pointed directly at them. It was this point that Kyle got down on one knee and asked Sarah to marry him. "The easiest yes I have ever said".

The rest is history, we cannot wait to celebrate with all of you on July 27 2024!
