The first time we officially met was on our first date. I walked outside my apartment building and saw Adam standing by his car holding flowers for me. We had started talking on Hinge a few days before when I liked one of his pictures and he messaged me with a date idea, making me be the one to actually ask him out. On our first date, we tried to impress each other with our trivia skills at O'Bannon's (we definitely won) and got ice cream. It was such a good time, Adam didn't even mind the parking ticket we got.
The following day we met on campus and Adam played piano for me in the MSC. I immediately recognized the song he played as a song I loved listening to in the Flag Room two years before. Adam confirmed that was him who I listened to play almost everyday our sophomore year. I then remembered that one time, while I was studying upstairs in the MSC, he started playing piano, and I thought "What if it's a super great guy playing and I go talk to him and we fall in love? That'd be such a cute story." I looked down at the piano, but from far away I could only see a corps uniform. I thought "A corps guy? Hmmmmm. I don't even know what I'd say. And I'm definitely too shy to just go up to him." I never went to talk to him, but I found my piano man.
Our relationship soon became official when we went on our second date the next day. We saw the Will Ferrell dog movie, Strays, got life-changing pizza at Costco, and talked for hours. Towards the end of the night, Adam asked me to be his girlfriend. I think it had something to do with my amazing movie choice. Since then, everything has been perfect. We've explored each others suburb of Houston we grew up in, spent time with each others families and friends, and survived being long distance. We are so excited to start our married life together, and we are extremely lucky how everything has worked out for us.
