Caleb and Sarah met in 3rd grade (fall 2002) at First United Methodist Church. Sarah's family moved churches, and Sarah and Caleb ended up attending Sunday school and playing handbells together. Through many handbell practices and performances, Sunday school classes, and eventually confirmation classes and youth group get-togethers, they became good friends. They often stuck together as most of the other handbell players were either older or younger than them, and they spent many a church service drawing each other mazes and puzzles on church bulletins. Sarah ended up taking a year and a half off from handbells in 2008-2009 due to some difficult family things going on at the time. She ended up really missing handbells (and Caleb) and came back to church at the beginning of 2010. Sarah and Caleb picked up right where they left off, and they officially started dating in May 2011.

Caleb proposed to Sarah at Cinderella's Royal Table in Walt Disney World on May 13, 2016. It was a truly magical surprise complete with a little glass slipper on a plate of rose petals, a special glass slipper dessert, special toasting glasses with sparkling cider, and a Disney photographer to capture it all! And to top it off, Princess Aurora and Princess Ariel were the first to congratulate them on their engagement. It couldn't have been more perfect!
