Their story actually starts about 20 years ago at King High School. As sophomores, Sean and Sarah had never crossed paths and things didn’t look like they’d change anytime soon.

Thankfully, fate intervened. A few weeks into their sophomore year, Sean was called into the office and asked if he’d be willing to switch from second period English to fourth period English. When he said yes, he had no idea that decision would end up changing the entire course of his life. As fate would have it, Sean was sat directly next to Sarah in his new English class and she was instantly smitten (or that’s what he says at least).

Throughout their sophomore year, Sarah and Sean became best friends. Between talking on the phone for hours late at night, going to hockey games and ice skating, and playing guitar together, the two quickly developed a deep and loving relationship together…as friends (not for Sean’s lack of trying and trying for more).

Their friendship continued to blossom for the remainder of high school and college as they created life long memories together. As the years went on, while they never stopped thinking about each other, they slowly lost touch and talked less and less. But fate would not have it and decided to intervene once again.

In 2023 fate brought them back together and things started back as though no time had passed at all. But this time, something was different. This time, they didn’t feel just like best friends, they felt like soulmates. It was a feeling that neither of them could deny. The two became inseparable and did everything together. Of course, continuing to go to hockey games and ice skate, but so much more.

Knowing how deeply in love he was, Sean convinced Sarah to go on a winter work trip with him to Colorado, but little did Sarah know, this “work” trip was all a lie. After shopping for winter clothes and packing her bag, they both headed to the airport. It was then that Sean let her in on a little secret…they were actually going to NYC to see the Christmas decorations, broadway plays, the Rockettes, and to eat their way through the city as they enjoyed all NYC had to offer.

On November 30th, Sean pretended to get last minute tickets to ice skate at Rockefeller Center and managed to “squeeze” it into their plans before dinner. As they skated, the ice slowly began to clear out and soon they were the only two left as their song began to play. Sean got down on one knee and asked the question he had dreamed of since he first laid eyes on Sarah nearly 20 years ago…”Sarah, will you marry me?”

Sarah and Sean can’t wait to celebrate on February 8th with all of you as their journey takes its next steps.
