Nick and I met during a particularly windy day during Memorial Day weekend in 2021. We were both on vacation with our families in North Myrtle Beach, SC enjoying sunshine and relaxation. I came out to the beach with my mom that morning and we tried-and failed- to secure our umbrella against the gusty winds. How incredibly lucky that Nick's Aunt Debbie happened to notice our struggle and brought it to Nick's attention, who sprang over to help us. He helped us secure the umbrella (not very thoroughly - it flew away a couple more times, by the way) and introduced himself to us in the process. We spent the day with our families next to each other on the beach, and before he went in for dinner, Nick came over to my chair to ask me out for drinks. We had our first date that night- and as they say, the rest was history. The next several years were spent with visits to Ohio, Nashville, and all over the west coast during my travel nursing assignments, until we (finally) moved to Charlotte together in summer of 2023. We were engaged a month later- and here we are! We feel so blessed to have had such a storybook beginning (I do love a Hallmark movie!) and so grateful that you all have been there to support us along the way. We have felt constant love and support from our families and friends and can't imagine our wedding without you all there.
