We met on August 21, 2014 on the very first day of freshman year at The College of New Jersey. For several weeks, Sarah tried to take her mom's advice to not jump right into a relationship at the start of college. However, Joey's charm was too strong to resist. On October 19, 2014, Joey asked Sarah to be his girlfriend. (Yes, they were young enough that he actually asked her to be his girlfriend - in the Centennial Hall kitchen after carving pumpkins). After 7 years of making memories together and growing together as individuals and as a couple, Joey proposed on August 13, 2021 on 101st Street beach in Stone Harbor.
