Sarah and Kyle had their first date back in August of 2021 in Omaha, but it wasn’t until December 29th, 2023 where their story really begins. Before we jump ahead, we’ll paint you a picture from the very beginning. Knowing Kyle to be a decent fellow, Sarah’s Mom Marilyn, had given him Sarah’s number back in 2021. Kyle, enthusiastic as ever, reached out and the two made plans to meet. However, unbeknownst to them, their date of two would turn into a date of three. About 20 minutes into the date, a local gentleman made his way over to their table, thirsty for coffee and hungry for good conversation. Though they’d made a friend, Sarah and Kyle left the date not really knowing much more about the other. Well, when Kyle reached out for a second shot, Sarah had unfortunately met someone else. Kyle, though extremely disappointed, being a man of immense virtue, waited two years hoping to one day reconnect with Sarah again. A pivotal character in their love story is Sarah’s Grandmother LeAnne, who’d tipped Kyle off that she was single again. In November 2023, Kyle asked Sarah out a second time and unfortunately was turned down. Sarah was indeed single and wanting to see him again, but bogged down with studying for a board exam. They both attended a JMMJ Concert in Des Moines, but yet again missed each other. This time, Sarah reached out and the two finally reconnected Saturday December, 29th 2023 over sushi. Little did either of them know that 12/29 would forever be special to them; for more ways than one. Kyle hadn’t known that about two years before reconnecting, Sarah had been praying to the Holy Family to intercede for her and her future husband and family. “What better family to model my own family after”, was Sarah’s thought. Well, the Holy Family heard loud and clear. It was at the Holy Family Shrine in Nebraska where Kyle proposed. And unknown to them at the time, this year 12/29 happens to be the Feast Day of the Holy Family. Furthermore, Sarah discovered that the Church she was baptized in is Holy Family Church in Eudora, Kansas and the building still stands today. Again, little did she know at six weeks old how much significance this would have for her 33 years later. Sarah and Kyle have been blessed in their dating, throughout their engagement, and very much look forward to seeing how their love story blooms even fuller within their marriage.
