The Meet:
Jason and I met back in the summer of 2015. Originally, we met at a party hosted by friends of our roommates. However, we really got to know each other when I joined Jason’s soccer team! We had our first (unintended) date watching a Cubs vs. Cardinals game. That same night, the Stanley Cup was downtown, so we braved the crowd to go see it. The rest is history!

Life Changes:
8+ years later, we have gone through so many important stages of our lives together. We bonded over playing recreational sports and watching the Blackhawks, and those are still things we very much still enjoy doing together. We’ve taken a couple of Spring Break trips to Nashville and Seattle. We got our first place together in 2019, and survived working from home together during Covid. That’s when I knew we would definitely make it! Then, we purchased our first home in 2022. Now that we’re all settled in, we love cooking dinner together, rollerblading, going to Blackhawks games, and dancing at our local 80’s/90’s dance club. However, as we’ve gotten older, sometimes it’s hard to resist a movie night in with a glass of wine. Last year, we got our first pet together, a rambunctious little cat named Rory, and we love her very much.
The Proposal:
In August 2023, we traveled with another couple to Ireland, Scotland, and England. On a very windy day, August 5, we visited the Cliffs of Moher. Towards the end of our hike, we went down on the cliffs to take a photo, and that’s when he surprised me with the proposal! I jokingly responded “I guess..” but he took it well. We were lucky enough that our friends are photographers, and we’re able to capture the moment for us so well.
