Our Wedding

OUR STORY

(SK's perspective)

Conner's family moved from Iowa to Arkansas three days before our freshman year of high school began. I prided myself on knowing everyone in our grade since I had attended Little Rock Christian Academy since kindergarten, but it wasn't until chemistry class our sophomore year of high school that I knew who Conner was. Although we had class together, we didn't become friends until the summer before senior year of high school when Conner started hanging out with my friend group. Conner told me that he would only come to friend group gatherings when he knew I would be there. We quickly became inseparable and to my surprise, Conner asked me to be his girlfriend on October 23, 2020 after losing to his rival in a football game that night! After we graduated high school, Conner had signed to play football at Ouachita Baptist University and I decided to attend Arkansas State University to pursue a nursing degree. We were faced with many hardships and challenges navigating long distance, but kept each other as a priority. Later that spring, OBU announced that they would be opening a nursing school on campus and I felt the Lord calling me be a part of it. We have now been at OBU for the past 3 years together and our relationship has flourished. Conner has been my rock and I truly feel the most at peace when I know he is around. I knew I didn't want to spend the rest of my life with anyone else, so when Conner proposed it became the happiest day of my life! I'm so excited for November 8th when Conner and I will commit our lives to each other with our closest family and friends surrounding us!

(Conner's Perspective)

The first thing I loved and noticied about SK before I truly got to know her was her bright blue eyes. I saw her around school, but I didn’t get to know her until the summer before senior year of high school when we started hanging out in the same friend group. After playing Pulaski Academy in a football game one Friday night, I asked SK to be my girlfriend. If you know SK, then you know she brings a smile to everyone’s face and she brought the biggest smile to my face even after losing to our rival school that night. We made a lot of great memories our senior year of high school, and after graduation, I went off to Ouachita Baptist University and SK went to Arkansas State where we navigated a long distance relationship. The next year she transferred and joined me at OBU to start the new nursing program. Since then, we had our ups and downs but I knew that no matter what happened in life, whether good or bad, I wanted her by my side. On October 18, 2024, I made the best decision of my life when I asked SK to marry me and I can’t wait to make her my wife.
