The Proposal
Josh surprised me at Windy Hills Lavender Farm in Atglen, PA. Josh stood in the rows of lavender waiting for me to arrive. I was under the impression I was going to a book fair with my maid of honor, Vanessa, and her sister. When we pulled up to a large farmhouse in the middle of nowhere, it’s safe to say I was a bit confused. My confusion continued when I saw a man that “looked like Josh” standing on the hill. While walking up to him, I can’t even remember what was going through my head. We greeted each other (awkwardly), then Josh got down on one knee. When he asked if I would marry him, I jokingly said “I guess”, immediately followed by, of course, a huge “Yes!”. Vanessa and her sister, Virginia did a wonderful job capturing our special moment! And while they were taking candids of us, we even had a puppy run up to greet us!! The lavender farm was complete with an airBnB for us to spend the night. We enjoyed the peaceful setting with each other!
Future Plans
We are always up for adventure and traveling, all while spending time for each other. We also love our time home together, since we work opposite shifts during the week; even if that means *trying* to make dinner together! We will continue to make time for each other, whether that be sticking with our monthly movie theater dates or continuing to use our shared calendar so we can always stay up-to-date with each other and our plans!
We also have started a tradition a few years back of traveling with friends and/or family (and even Maple) every summer, and we plan to keep that going! Who knows where the next trip will take us! So far, we have been to Quebec, Canada and Bar Harbor, Maine and have had the best experiences in both places!
We are currently saving for our next steps together, which includes finding the perfect permanent home for us and a list of fun travels!
We can’t wait to see where the future takes us together!
