Jay is Alex's younger brother (please disregard the fact that Jay is taller). He will serve as this event's Best Man, and he is indeed the Best Man for the job. Growing up, Alex and Jay enjoyed hitting each other with sticks as though they were swords, getting lost in a very small patch of woods in their backyard, and arguing over what they wanted to watch on TV. As adults, Alex and Jay enjoy helping their father with yard work, getting lost hiking in public parks, and agreeing on what they want to watch on TV. Alex is very proud of his brother, and will be truly honored to have him at his side at his wedding (if he decides to come).

Jackie is Sarah's best and oldest friend, and will be Sarah's Maid of Honor. Jackie and Sarah met in first grade, and have more or less been inseparable since. When they were children, Jackie and Sarah spent hours upon hours (really) playing The Sims at their nearly weekly slumber parties. As adults, they now enjoy lunch dates followed by long trips to Home Goods. Sarah could not imagine having anyone other than Jackie at her side as Maid of Honor.

Jim is Alex's future Brother-In-Law, by way of being Sarah's older brother. Jim and his wife Heather live all the way out in Rhode Island with their son Dean, and all three will be members of our wedding party, making them quite special indeed. Jim is a former real life rock star, but he will be a rock star in our hearts forever.

Heather is Sarah's Sister-In-Law, and is married to Jim. Heather and Sarah have a long history of instigating matching family Christmas pajamas, much to Jim's dismay. Weather permitting, you can often find Heather enjoying the sunshine at the Rhode Island beaches with Dean.

Ryan is Alex's Brother-In-Law, and is married to Alex's older sister Sarah. Ryan is occasionally louder than most, and loves to sing. These two attributes pair together quite nicely, particularly at weddings. If you will be attending our wedding, you are in for a treat. Ryan has also been an important staple of our family vacations for many years. If you will be attending our family vacation (statistically no, sorry), you are in for a treat.

Sarah is Sarah's future Sister-In-Law, and Alex's older sister. Sarah lives in Connecticut with her husband Ryan and new baby girl, Sadie, all three of which are a part of our wedding party. You can always count on Sarah to be a level-headed listener and a calming presence when you need it most. Sarah may be quieter than Ryan, but the conversation is always just as lively!

Ryan is one of Alex's oldest friends, and from their very beginnings one of his very best. Ryan will go to extreme lengths to get a good photograph, and Alex has assisted him on several occasions, including a long trip to Hawaii filled with treacherous hiking. If you've been invited to our wedding, you already own one of his masterpieces because a picture he took of us was included with your Save The Date announcement. If you got rid of that picture, we are slightly disappointed in your decision (but you are still invited to the wedding).

Erica and Sarah met in elementary school, and Erica has been one of Sarah's closest friends since then. They both share unhealthy obsessions with cats and Taylor Swift (and yes, Taylor Swift's cats). You can also catch her dissecting the latest Bachelor episode with Sarah. Just don't ask her thoughts on Katie's season. Even though Erica recently embarked on a cross-country move to Utah, the two have continued to keep their friendship going strong.

Kong and Alex met in graduate school at Georgia Tech in Atlanta, and have remained close ever since. When they lived only a short drive apart from each other, Kong and Alex enjoyed late night expeditions to various fast food chain establishments, taste-testing all of the finest ice-cream in the land, and providing each other with much-needed support through the trials and tribulations of grad school.

Stephanie and Sarah met freshman year of high school, and have been friends ever since. While music festivals and nights out have long been replaced by (much preferred) daytime activities, their friendship has proven to be able to evolve and go the distance.

Amanda and Sarah met in high school, through the merging of mutual friend groups. For years, Amanda has been yet another friend that Sarah is able to bond with over cats and Taylor Swift (are you noticing a trend here?). Sarah could not imagine getting married without Amanda there too.

Young Dean is Sarah and Alex's oldest nephew, the son of Jim and Heather Knauss. Dean is incredibly fond of his 'Auwntie Sawwa,' because she is indeed the best Aunt who has ever lived. He has nice memories of his 'Unkkie Awl,' because one time he bought him a tugboat at Mystic Aquarium. Dean will be entrusted with the rings at our ceremony, so if you see him please make sure he has them.

Sadie is Sarah and Alex's niece, and the daughter of Sarah and Ryan Nelson. She will be one of two adorable flower girls you will see walking (hopefully by then?) down the aisle at the ceremony. Sadie is also otherwise known as Grandma Caryn and Grandpa Joe's favorite grandchild.

Katherine 'Baby K' Brittain is Sarah and Alex's youngest niece, and daughter of Jay and Kathie Brittain. She will be joining her cousin, Sadie, in walking (hopefully by then?) down the aisle at the ceremony. Baby K is also otherwise known as Grandma Caryn and Grandpa Joe's favorite grandchild.
