The story of Sarah and Daniel begins in the year of 2019. Sarah was living in Clay, Michigan finishing school and working part time, and Daniel was living in Royal Oak, Michigan working for General Motors. Sarah and Daniel crossed paths many times that year, as one of Sarah's friends was dating one of Daniel's friends. However, it wasn't until a birthday celebration in late August when they finally made a connection. Daniel showed up at Punch Bowl Social in downtown Detroit, truthfully unhappy to be there. He had been out on a boat most of the day and wanted to go to bed, but the cosmos had other plans. Unbeknownst to him, Sarah grew up with boats and on the water, and this is the common ground they had that day which caused him to stay. Sarah and Daniel hit it off that night, and spent the evening chatting away, learning about one another's interests and who they were. Eventually the night wound down, and Daniel invited Sarah and some others to his place the next day for his world famous shrimp tacos. And let's just say that their relationship has turned out significantly better than those shrimp tacos on that fateful Sunday night.
Ignoring her disappointment in the quality of his cooking (he swears it was a fluke and the grill's fault), she accepted Daniel's invitation to dinner later that week. Not a day has gone by since that first date where they have not been on top of one another's mind.
As the months went by and the two of them fostered their relationship, their chemistry and bond continued to grow. Pet names started to be used, trips began to be taken, and that 4 letter "L" word was starting to creep in to both of their minds. Their days were filled with dinner dates in igloos, Oak House Deli at the park, trivia at random breweries, and staying up just to talk with one another. The two of them most loved spending their time together on the Michigan water, whether it be Lake St. Clair, Christiana Lake or any lake they could find in-between. Neither knows who said it first, but finally these two were in love.
Fast forward to 2021 and Daniel is working remote, and Sarah's family moved away from Michigan. After a short stint of the two living together, they decided to transplant to Indianapolis, Indiana where their story has only gotten better. Initially living downtown, they loved to get margaritas at Bakersfield, night caps at Mass Ave Pub, and walk around the Bottleworks district enjoying one another's company. While in their apartment, they even adopted their beloved dog, Kobe! Throughout this time they both knew what the future held: an engagement and marriage and that it was just a matter of time.
Two homes and a couple years later Daniel finally proposed to Sarah in St. Joseph, Michigan. It was a fitting close to their dating chapter as they met in Michigan and both are lake lovers.
And that brings us to today! The shrimp tacos did in fact not scare her away, and Sarah thoroughly enjoys the meals Daniel cooks. They are both so excited to celebrate their love with you all and cannot wait to be married and make a lifetime of memories.
