The No Kings Protest is the same day as our wedding. The march starts near our venue (The Exchange) around 1:30pm and is expected to move on well before the wedding starts. Hopefully everything will be back to normal within a few hours. However, expect street closures, traffic, and limited parking. You're welcome to enter the venue at 5:00, and if you get there any earlier than that I'm fairly sure you'll be welcomed into the building regardless.
We recommend walking to the venue if you're booked at the Kimpton or Silversmith. If you are coming from further away we recommend taking a Lyft or Uber to the venue or as near to the venue as you can get and walk from there!
For those of you who are driving to the Exchange, the barriers on Michigan Avenue should be down by 5:00. The best place to park is the Grant Park South parking garage. To enter, however, you must be heading north. If you are coming east on Congress, you cross Michigan Avenue, then turn left at the first light, which will loop you back onto Michigan Avenue. Make a right onto Michigan Avenue. The entrance to the garage is in the middle of Michigan Avenue, so stay to your left after you turn to enter the garage.
If you are coming from Lake Shore Drive, traveling south, you need to exit at Jackson and take the first left onto Columbus Drive, then a right onto Congress and the next right onto Michigan Avenue. You can enter the garage after the next light. The entrance will be on your left.
After entering the garage, go toward closest exit to the venue will be towards the Adams Street exit, which will bring you to the stairs by the Symphony Center. The Exchange is just next door, to the south of the Symphony Center.
The good news is that you can have your ticket validated at the Exchange and the price will be $13.
We will be starting the ceremony promptly at 5:30!
We are SO looking forward to seeing you. Safe travels, and see you soon!!!
