Ben likes to say we met in Kindergarten. We had the same teacher but at different times, so our paths probably did cross. We went to school together from elementary to high school. Ben also jokes he had a huge crush on me in 5th grade but was too scared to talk to me because I was taller than everyone (hard to believe, I know).

We "dated" in 6th grade, as much as 12 year olds can date. From then on, we were always somehow in each others lives. From best friends, back to dating, a quick stint of being frenemies (but we don't like to talk about that), to now.

Throughout high school, we always talked at least once a year. Happy birthdays and hey my sister had a baby! But nothing more, it never seemed to work out.

On Ben's 21st birthday I reached out and said happy birthday. I did not get a response until the next day, for obvious reasons. From then on, we did not stop talking. It was as if no time had passed and we picked up right where we left off. I always say Taylor Swift's song "Invisible String" is about us. Ben and I have always somehow been connected throughout our life.

4 (long) years later, here we are! Nashville was our first big trip as a couple and we went back there in November and he proposed with all our friends there to witness it. Best. Day. EVER!
