Trevor and I met in December 2020 after I moved home from Jackson, MS. I was on my way out of town, and when I stopped for gas about 20 minutes outside of Oxford, I got a text message from a friend asking if I wanted to eat dinner with her, another friend, and Trevor. I paused, and decided I didn't really want to leave town anyway. I turned my car around and met them at Proud Larrys that night. We talked for hours, and decided we should get together more often. We spent some time together in large groups and at church and became friends. One day after church, we ran into each other at Southern Craft, and chatted while we waited for our separate tables. Once we sat down, my sister said, "So when are ya'll going on a date?" I laughed it off, but realized I had a crush. We ran into each other again the next week at Saint Leo, and it felt like a “Master Orchestrator,” like C.S. Lewis says, was somehow at work. It just seemed too coincidental. Interested in what could come of it, I invited Trevor to go shooting on an icy morning in February with Alice and Christian, and that afternoon, he asked me on our first date. We decided to go to Boure the next Friday. The morning of our date, I realized we didn't have a reservation, so I prayed "Lord, please don't make us wait two hours for a table, and if it could be one in the corner, that would be great... otherwise Im not sure Ill be able to hear him. :)" We walked in, and of course, it was a two-hour wait. I watched Trevor cringe as he put our names on the list, and we walked upstairs where we ran into one of my bridesmaids, AK. We made small talk for a just few minutes, but Trevor's watch soon buzzed saying our table was ready. Confused, we walked downstairs, and our table, one in the corner, was, in fact, ready! We talked for hours that night, went on a second date, and then I got cold feet and decided I wasnt ready for a relationship. I broke it off, and we took a six-month break. Trevor will never let me live it down. Then, one night in September 2021, I asked him to dance at a party, we rekindled our romance, and a year later, he asked me to marry him. He's all I ever wanted, and everything I didn't know I needed. We're opposite in every way, but compliment each other perfectly. He loves me with a patient, faithful, committed heart, and as Christ pursues His bride in devoted love, so Trevor loves me. Praise God for second chances! -Sarah
