Sam and Sarah met on the first day of their freshman year of college at Shenandoah University. They had a class together titled "role play and simulation" which was essentially an improv acting class. Although they rarely talked to each other in this class, they would always try to walk back to their dorm building together because they secretly thought the other one was cute ;)

1 semester after Sam and Sarah initially met, Sam randomly sent Sarah a Snapchat message. Sam said "what's kickin'" and Sarah sent back a picture of her foot and said "that's what's kickin'". Cringey, I know, but they haven't stopped talking to each other since that moment.

About 1 month after Sam and Sarah started talking to each other they went on their first date. Sam took Sarah to a Washington Capitols game in D.C. Sam had gotten great seats for the game and they had the best time!

Just 3 days after Sam and Sarah's first date, Sarah flew home to Utah for spring break and Sam drove home to Fredericksburg, VA. Little did they know that while on spring break the COVID pandemic would hit and they would not be allowed to return back to school. While across the country from each other they Facetimed every day. They also watched Breaking Bad together over Facetime (although Sarah fell asleep during almost every episode).

After 3 months spent on opposite sides of the country, Shenandoah University finally allowed their students to come back to move their things out of their dorms. While Sarah was in Virginia moving out of her freshman dorm, she surprised Sam by showing up at his house in Fredericksburg. This was also Sarah's first time meeting Sam's family. We spent a couple days together in Fredericksburg and Sam was able to take Sarah to all his favorite local spots.

After another 2 months apart, Sam flew to Logan, Utah to spend a week with Sarah and her family. Sam went camping in the fifth-wheel, visited Sarah's favorite restaurant (Takara Sushi), went to Fizz and Fries (Sam's favorite soda shop that unfortunately closed down), and most importantly went to the Cache County Rodeo. Sam even bought his first pair of cowboy boots. These boots are now Sam's "fancy shoes" and he is itching to get more pairs of boots.

Fast forward after another semester of school, Sam (and their best friend Will) flew to Utah to spend a week in Logan to snowboard at Beaver Mountain. We skied and snowboarded almost every day Sam was in Utah. This started a yearly tradition of Sam flying to Utah to snowbard.

Sam and Sarah celebrated their first anniversary by cooking steak and sweet potatoes in the dorm kitchen.

Sam and Sarah moved into their first apartment together with their best friend Will.

Sam and Sarah attended Shenandoah University's spring formal. Sarah was even able to convince sam to slow dance with her!

Sarah started graduate school to get her Doctorate in Physical Therapy. Sam and Sarah were able to attend the annual SUPT Gala together.

Sam and Sarah graduated from Shenandoah University! Sam received his bachelors in Chemistry and Sarah received her Bachelors in Exercise Science.

Sam had an internship in Logan this summer. Sam and Sarah were able to spend the summer together golfing and working out at the ARC with Faith (Sarah's sister).

Sam started graduate school to get his Masters in Cybersecurity at JMU which meant that Sam had to move out of their apartment. Sam and Sarah were able to see each other on the weekends though for JMU football games. They were also able to attend another SUPT gala.

Sam, Sarah, and their good friends Nick and Summer took a trip to Ireland and Scotland. Sam and Sarah had the BEST time. They went to the Guinness factory, saw an Irish dance show, visited the Cliffs of Moher, and saw the Edinburgh castle.

Sam and Sarah adopted a dog! Meet Riley!

She said yes!! Sam took Sarah and her sister Faith to a mountaintop brunch at Snow Basin Mountain. Before they sat down for brunch Sam took Sarah outside to "take pictures" but instead he got down on one knee. Faith hired her friend who is a photographer to phograph the whole thing. After the proposal they all went inside the lodge for brunch where Sam had flowers waiting at the table.

After the proposal Sam surprised Sarah by taking her to Park City where he had rented an AirBnB for a couple days right off main street. That evening Sam drove Sarah to a surprise engagement party in Park City with friends and family that had even flown into town for the occassion. It was a surreal day that Sam and Sarah continue to talk about.

Sam and Sarah spent their time in Park City visiting the olympic park, golfing, shopping, and of course eating delicious food. It was the perfect engagement-moon. Now they're ready to get married and party the night away!
