Will Rodgers World Airport (OKC), located in Southern Oklahoma City, OK is the ideal airport to fly in to. It is a medium-sized airport with daily flights coming in from all over the country, you may have a stopping connection flight in Dalls-Fort Worth (DFW) before you arrive to OKC. From the airport, it is roughly 1 hour drive to the wedding venue. However, we will have a list of recommended hotels and areas to stay in when you fly in. Additionally, there is an option to fly to Dallas-Forth Worth (DFW) or Dallas-Love Field (DAL) and then drive to Oklahoma City - it is roughly a 3 hour drive though. So it may seem cheaper to fly into Dallas but the caveat is the drive to/from Oklahoma City.
Edmond - Closest Driving Distance to Wedding Venue. Situated at the Northern outskirts of Oklahoma City, this suburb has it all. Quiet neighborhoods, shopping, various restaurants to choose from as well as breweries and coffeeshops. Slightly separated from the city, you'll be able to enjoy some quiet when perusing around the suburb but still close enough of driving to access downtown OKC or the nearby Lake Hefner and surrounding areas.
The Village / Nichols Hills / Qual Creek - Best of both worlds if we can call it that. Settled right in the middle between Downtown OKC and Edmond (shopping malls and other restaurants), this area is perfect if you want a little bit of both worlds! Easy access on I-74 that turns into any major arterial freeway to get you around OKC. Nichols Hills is a very upscale location, so expect prices to be higher than most. The Village offers a nice suberb to Nichols Hills as is just as upscale in its houses but at a much more affordable rates - most homes that are listed as AirBnBs have been renovated to match the modernizing of the area.
Bricktown / Downtown OKC - Offers the best "Things To Do" of Oklahoma City. You have options from quaint Brunch, Coffee and Dessert Shops, local breweries, and Bricktown itself! Bricktown is a mini-riverwalk restaurant/shopping plaza! There are many attractions here ranging from arcade/outdoor & mini-golf, baseball games, restaurants to breweries/bars.
The Wedding venue is secluded from the business of Oklahoma City. It's in a very rural part of Central Oklahoma surrounded by trees and farmland. Because of its unique location, cell reception will be spotty if not all together unreliable. There will be WiFi provided at the venue, however. Additionally, because of the remote nature of the venue, there are not many amenities in or around the nearby towns with the exception of a few gas stations. The last "major" city you reach is the town of Guthrie, where you'll exit I-35 and proceed Eastward. There you'll find small hole-in the wall restaurants and a gas station. Please keep this in mind when you are driving and have enough gas in the tank to travel to/from the wedding location. Moreover, there are no hotels in the actual town of Merrick but there are some hotels in the town of Guthrie - but keep in mind the limited amenities should you stay in Guthrie. As you approach the wedding venue, please keep an eye out for the signs directing the traffic flow as roads will become narrow and what everyone to be vigilant while driving on these narrow dirt roads.
