30–45 minutes from Big Sur
We are getting married at Alila Ventana Big Sur, a luxury adults-only resort nestled among the redwoods with breathtaking views of the coastline and mountains. This is where our ceremony and reception will be held, and it’s truly magical.
For guests interested in staying on-site, Ventana offers a range of accommodations — from beautifully designed suites to their unique glamping tents and campground sites tucked into the redwoods. While premium rooms can be on the luxury end, the glampsites and camping options offer a more budget-friendly way to experience the property and stay closer to the celebration.
We recommend booking early, as availability in Big Sur is limited, especially in October.
With Point Lobos State Reserve reachable in 24 miles, Big Sur Lodge provides accommodations, a restaurant, a seasonal outdoor swimming pool, a shared lounge and a bar. Complimentary WiFi is provided throughout the property. There's a private bathroom with shower in all units, along with free toiletries and a hairdryer. An à la carte, continental or American breakfast is available at the property. If you would like to discover the area, hiking is possible nearby and the lodge can arrange a car rental service. Presidio of Monterey Museum is 31 miles from Big Sur Lodge, while Carmel Mission is 26 miles away. Monterey Regional Airport is 34 miles from the property.
Big Sur has a variety of unique Airbnbs — from cozy cabins tucked in the redwoods to modern homes with sweeping ocean views. Availability can be limited and prices can vary widely, so we recommend booking early if you’re hoping to stay closer to the ceremony. This is a great option for guests who want more privacy, extra space, or a peaceful nature-immersive stay.
Monterey offers a wide range of more affordable hotel options, from charming boutiques to familiar, budget-friendly brands. It’s about a 35–40 minute drive to Alila Ventana, making it a convenient home base for the weekend. If you’re looking to balance comfort and cost, staying in Monterey is a great choice — plus, you’ll be close to beaches, restaurants, and the Cannery Row waterfront.
