Black-tie optional, but beach black tie might make more sense- the wedding will be on the beach in front of the hotel (not exactly conducive to tall heels). Historically, weather has been 72-84 degrees with a significant breeze. We'll be out of hurricane season but it does not mean it won't rain (it's still the tropics!). Any vacation attire is welcomed the rest of the weekend. Most restaurants and bars do not have dress codes but it's vacation- make it fun!

It's up to you! It will likely enhance the experience but no one needs to be fluent. Practical phrases are very useful and help to show our respect of the beautiful island!

Cozumel's water supply is treated but you should never drink tap water. Bottled water will be provided throughout your stay and any water served by bartenders and staff will be bottled as well (including any ice and for food preparation).

Main reasons people get sick in Mexico: 1) drinking too much 2) they ate too much fruit, or 3) becoming dehydrated. Pace yourself, the margaritas will not run out. The fruit and produce is excellent but consuming too much of it (even in the USA) can cause significant stomach-aches. Lastly, we are far closer to the equator-- drink more water and gatorade than normal and especially right before you go to bed. If you know you are prone to any stomach issues- Imodium AD and Pedialyte are your friend!

Most everywhere on the island accepts American dollars and credit card (especially Visa/Mastercard). Locals always prefer pesos if you can. You can exchange at the airport but we usually go to Banamex (30 Avenida Sur 101, Adolfo López Mateos, 77667 Cozumel, Q.R., Mexico) and utilize the ATM, mind you it does require you to interpret in Spanish (and pesos).
