Who would have thought? A simple swipe right?

Sarah and Matt met back in 2014 when Sarah was in college at Lasell and Matt was living in the Greater Boston area. They went their separate ways after a few months of casual dating. Then 8 years later, Matt decided to Facebook message Sarah. That was 2 ½ years ago! WOW, time flies… Now, they are getting ready to celebrate their big day together!

Sarah and Matt decided their first date (well, the “second” first date!) would be at the Stockyard Restaurant in Brighton. Matt was extremely nervous to see Sarah again after so many years apart. His nervousness completely disappeared as soon as he sat down across from Sarah. Their night was a complete success! It was so natural for them to talk and be together. Matt left the date with a big smile, calling his “buddies” saying he was so happy to have reconnected with Sarah. Since that moment, Sarah and Matt have been by each others side, supporting one another through the Covid pandemic, various health and personal struggles, moving, and the loss of loved ones. Their love has never wavered.

In June of 2021, Sarah and Matt moved in together, shortly after they took their first trip together to the Dominican Republic. Throughout the summer, they spent time with both Matt & Sarah’s families by taking trips to Connecticut, the Cape, North Carolina, South Carolina, Florida, Jamaica, Canada, Arizona, Aruba, and more. Matt and Sarah started their family together when Duke the Golden arrived. Raising a dog in a tiny apartment definitely had its challenges! In October of 2022, Matt and Sarah traveled North to Amesbury, MA to look at a potential house. The big yard for Duke and the potential of remodeling over time sold them both and they closed on the house a week after Thanksgiving. Now the only thing left was the engagement! Matt had asked Sarah’s parents for their blessing before everyone jetted off for the annual Morgenthaler Disney Trip in December. While Sarah always dreamed of having a proposal at Disney, Matt had different plans up his sleeve and kept her guessing the entire time they were there.

Matt knew it would mean the world to Sarah if Duke could be a part of the proposal, which brings us to Valentines Day 2023. It was a regular day for Sarah: she headed off to work with plans to meet Matt that evening for a special dinner in Amesbury. This was not a regular day for Matt, though, as he had lots to do! He ran around all day getting organized! Dinner was romantic as they ate and drank the night away. Once they arrived back home in separate cars, Sarah rushed in to use the bathroom, which was a good thing as Matt finished setting up the living room! Matt had a romantic country song playing in the background with Duke standing next to him. While Sarah read a hand written love poem, Matt got down on one knee. The rest is history!

Our wedding is the next stop on our magical journey. We are beyond thrilled to have all our friends and family celebrate with us as we look forward to our future adventures.
