Tristin and Sarah met at an unexpected but perfect moment. Both had sworn off dating—Tristin over a year ago, and Sarah just ten minutes before spotting the handsome UPS man walking through her job's front door.
Sarah's heart raced as she freshened up, eager to get a closer look at the man about to enter. Taking a leap of faith despite past heartbreaks, she scribbled her number on a piece of paper and gave it to Ms. Vicki, her "work grandma," to pass along to him. To her delight, Tristin decided to take a leap of faith as well.
Tristin never imagined meeting someone special, let alone on his delivery route. Yet, against all odds, they began to fall in love. Over the next two weeks, Tristin and Sarah stayed up late talking on the phone and texting, sharing everything from basic facts to intimate details about their lives. Each delivery brought a flutter of excitement to their hearts, and even the receptionist noticed their budding romance. Despite their shyness and busy schedules, a connection was forming.
Eventually, the day arrived for their first date. They laughed over crab legs and alligator bites, their faces smeared with butter and seasonings. In that moment, no one else in the room mattered—no one else existed. Despite Sarah having to work at 5 a.m. the next day, when 10 p.m. arrived, she wished the night could last forever.
Sarah did eventually put Tristin to work, playfully asking him to clean her windshield since he had longer arms. That night, she tried to stretch their time together just a little longer. That simple evening sparked an unbreakable bond between them, leading to a love story that culminated in their wedding.
Long before they officially met, Sarah and Tristin had several close calls—moments where their paths nearly crossed, yet fate made them wait.
One of the earliest near-encounters happened at a Mother's Day concert. Sarah was there with her mother and grandmother, while Tristin was with his friends, Gauge and Brycen. As the band played, inviting fans onstage to sing and dance, they stood in the same crowd, unaware of each other's presence.
Another brush with destiny came during an unexpected turn of events—quite literally. Sarah and her grandmother were driving home when they were t-boned at an intersection, sending their car swerving into the median. Thankfully, everyone was okay, but the accident caused a major traffic jam. Among the many cars caught in the backup was Tristin, just trying to get home after work, unknowingly waiting behind the scene of Sarah’s accident.
And then, for nearly two years, they worked within walking distance of each other, never realizing how close they were. Day after day, they unknowingly shared the same spaces, passed by the same places—until the timing was finally right.
