Our Story

The Couple's Chronology

Camille is Sarah's day one ride or die literally since infancy. They made their way from day care and 4th grade spelling tests to sleepaway camp and youth group trips to Florida. Their list of shenanigans over the years knows no bounds. Now that they have both finished endless schooling and found fulfilling careers in science, they find every opportunity they can to spend a weekend together in Boston or New York. Between these visits, they'll often send a message out of the blue that brings back a memory, perpetuating their endless cycle of laughter and nostalgia. 

Camille

The universe brought Abbie and Sarah together as roommates their freshman year of college. Despite Abbie's political science background, she complimented Sarah's animal science nerdiness quite nicely, never even complaining when Sarah would come home smelling like a barn. They ended up living together all 4 years, creating endless memories which they frequently reflect on together. Abbie has been there for some of the highest highs and the lowest lows in Sarah's life, always serving as a sounding board or knowing when a small but incredibly thoughtful gesture is needed. Having recently gotten hitched herself, Abbie is ready to celebrate love once again!

Daniel and Orlando met at Cornell and became housemates for a few years. While they can no longer get together every weekend to play golf, do a grill and chill (this man understands good Texas BBQ), or stop by Trax after a day on the icy slopes of Greek Peak, their bromance remains strong. Orlando was there when Daniel and Sarah met, so he can attest to their instant connection. They are excited to have him serve as the best man for their special day! 

Orlando Farias

Sarah first encountered Mike during their student orientation weekend at Delaware and the rest is history. They struggled through classes together, enjoyed nonstop laughs and inside jokes, and ended up living together with Abbie and Lauren for their last 2 years of school. When you find a friend who shows up at your dorm room right after your organic chemistry final with a bottle of rum and a plan to jump in the campus fountain, you know it's a friend for life! 

Mike

Lauren and Sarah became fast friends at college through their mutual love of laughter and medicine. They ended up living together in college and supported each other through long school breaks filled with research jobs and thesis prep, nerding out together as Lauren taught Sarah about epigenetics or cracking up while making silly videos. They helped each other through some really tough times and celebrated some amazing accomplishments. After 8 years of long distance friendship between New York and Minnesota, Sarah was elated to find out that Lauren will be moving back to the east coast- best wedding gift ever!

Karianna would like to take full credit for catalyzing Sarah and Daniel's journey together. To be fair, when Daniel first asked Sarah out, it was Karianna who was in earshot and replied with a resounding YES before Sarah could answer. It goes without saying that Karianna has been a great friend from Sarah and Daniel's grad school days. She always reminded Sarah to have a little fun between studying, whether it was by having long chats while hiking or through impromptu adventures with friends! Her friendship with Daniel culminated in their formation of a Zoom workout group during COVID to help keep each other motivated. 

Karianna

Ed was one of Daniel’s labmates in graduate school and the only one who truly understood the value of a quick Blue Bomber down at Moonies in Ithaca. While bonding during many long nights in the office designing chips, they also managed to enjoy golf and snowboarding outings over the years. Ed is now far more skilled at golf than the rest of the Ithaca crew (par none!), so he is thrilled to be headed to a golf resort for the wedding!

Ed Szoka

Brian is Daniel’s older and taller brother. Over the years they have moved from playing sports and video games together as kids to planning snowboarding trips and making the occasional video call from opposite coasts. Brian got to introduce Daniel and Sarah to his dog Koda in San Francisco and then they got to introduce him to Broadway in NYC. 

Brian Palmer

Sarah's cousin Rachel was born 3 months earlier, allowing them to go through each phase of life together. They enjoyed family trips to Bermuda, Cape Cod, and Alaska, as well as several summers together at sleepaway camp in the Poconos. But most importantly, they have been constants in each other's lives, always remembering the good old days when they'd go climb rocks in the woods with David and Stephanie. And now they get to help each other navigate through life's latest adventures such as husbands and home ownership!

Rachel Hess

Rachel and Sarah met as anatomy lab partners freshman year at University of Delaware. Whether it was the formalin fumes or their subsequent journey to New Zealand for study abroad, they could both tell it was the start of a beaUDful friendship. They continued bonding over new ventures such as grad school struggles, the triumphs and perils of cat ownership, braving traffic for a beach trip, and finding the perfect memes for their unique senses of humor. 

Rachel Breslin

David is Sarah’s older and taller brother. Daniel and David have gotten to know each other thanks to their close proximity over the past few years. Uncle David loves pet-sitting the cats, especially Leche who has been his biggest fan since her kittenhood. He has also helped Daniel as a pickleball partner and they’ve enjoyed some jam sessions together on guitar and piano. 

David Morrissey

Arjun was one of Daniel’s first friends at Swarthmore College and his eventual roommate for two years. Daniel and Arjun started with humble beginnings pledging a fraternity together their freshman year. By the end of college they had managed to meet some amazing friends and Arjun organized a fantastic trip to Cancun for the boys.

Everything from the ceremony, reception, and after party to the Sunday brunch will take place at Minerals Hotel- no driving, Ubers, or shuttles needed! Here are the instructions for booking hotel rooms at&nbsp;Minerals Hotel&nbsp;using the wedding room block rate: Can I put this off?The resort emphasized the importance of booking early! The good news is you can cancel without penalty until 1 week before the reservation. How do I book?Guests should call 866-921-0422 ext. 2 and mention the Morrissey-Palmer Wedding right away to receive the discounted rate.&nbsp; Each room in the Minerals Hotel room block is a deluxe room with 2 queen beds for $189/night. Room block rate would apply for both the Friday and&nbsp;Saturday nights.&nbsp;You can also ask about applying the room block discount to an upgraded room if preferred. If there are no rooms left under our room block, please let us know! When do I pay?A deposit of one-night room and tax is charged at time of the reservation. Am I booking at the correct hotel?Please note, the room block rooms are only at the Minerals Hotel which is the location of the wedding ceremony, the reception, the afterparty, and the post-wedding brunch.&nbsp; Grand Cascades Lodge is the other hotel at Crystal Springs Resort. Guests are welcome to book a room at the Grand Cascades Lodge if desired, but this would be a 3 minute drive from Minerals Hotel and would be full price since it is NOT part of the wedding room block.&nbsp;

Hotel

The Minerals Hotel provides an all-inclusive weekend mountain retreat! Hotel guests will have access to indoor and outdoor pools, the 9-hole golf course, the spa, nature trails, and plenty of other seasonal resort activities. Check out their website for more information.

A refined dining experience complete with a lovely selection of wines. This restaurant is within the Crystal Springs Resort. Conveniently located a few minutes from the Minerals Hotel at the Crystal Springs Clubhouse of the Grand Cascades Lodge. Reservations required.

Restaurant Latour

Plenty of nice hiking trails are available around the resort with everything from a relaxed leisurely walk to a challenging half day journey. The front desk at the Minerals Hotel has a detailed list of options. Some details they provided:-Wood Duck Nature trail = 13 min from Minerals Hotel, 3.3 mile trail, easy flat walk, more wildlife, more shaded -Appalachian boardwalk = 11 min from Minerals Hotel, 4.1 mile trail, boardwalk + suspension bridge through wetlands, some wildlife, wildflowers, more sunny -Cascade Lake = 26 min from Minerals Hotel, 9.1 mile trail, beautiful view of NYC skyline from summit, moderate to difficult hike depending on path

Hiking

Just 15 minutes from Minerals Hotel, you can take a field trip to New York and visit Penning's to sip beer or cider at their beer garden. They also have some great locally-sourced food (can confirm great burgers!) and serve brunch on the weekends. They also offer a selection of seasonal market items and fruit picking, but you've got a wedding to attend!
