It all started for us on July 4th, 2018! Our two friend groups connected for a day full of good music, swimming, and sand volleyball. We both admit that we caught each other's eye, but at that point, the timing wasn't right. We had a busy fall semester and now tease each other about neither one of us making a move. For a moment it seemed like the idea of us slipped away - Alec moved to Boston for a semester, and Sarah left to study abroad in Italy.

However, things re-ignited for us almost immediately one summer night in 2019. We both had returned to Iowa City for our senior years and bumped into each other while out celebrating separate friends' birthdays. In fact, we owe Kathir Pandian and Riley Callahan the credit for spotting each other, remembering our spark from the summer before, and dragging us back together.

From there it was history. We had our first of many dates playing billiards and talking about our recent adventures to the East Coast and abroad. Then COVID happened, and we grew closer and closer as we lived through those crazy times. Fast forward to our big vacation in Boston, where Alec proposed in his favorite place in the world: Boston Harbor. It’s been a heck of a process to plan for the big day since then, but we couldn’t be more excited. We’re counting down the days until our wedding on July 6th, 2024, nearly 5 years on the dot from the day we met. We can't wait to celebrate with you!
