Sarah and Steve's story began in 2016 at no better place than the Jersey shore. As many of you know and probably can't forget, Steve and his brother Mike had a shared house in Manasquan with their friends that summer. Fourth of July weekend, Sarah went down the shore with her girlfriend, Caitlin (a bridesmaid!), for a casual girls' getaway. The girls were enjoying some R&R, but couldn't pass up an opportunity to spin the shot wheel at Bar A with some of their besties. Being that Mike and Sarah went to school together, it was only a matter of time before the Manasquan bros and Penn State gals would sync up.


One drink led to another and Sarah didn't waste any time to introduce herself to Steve! At first Steve seemed distracted on his phone (Sarah claims), but as the night progressed Steve asked Sarah to get a drink even though she was already holding one. The two ended up dancing the night away and have been inseparable ever since.

Steve quickly learned the secret to Sarah's heart, and the two have spent many weekends together binge-watching Netflix and eating late night cookies. Sarah and Steve love to travel and continue to spend their summers down the shore. They enjoy finding the new best taco spots, going to hockey games, and hitting the court for some "friendly" tennis and pickle ball matches. The couple will never miss an opportunity to spend time with their families especially with Coco and Tess (the Pine dogs!).

On July 1, 2019, Steve pulled off the ultimate surprise. The couple was traveling to Curacao with the Pine family for a summer Caribbean trip. Little did Sarah know that their families and friends were all in on the secret that Steve was planning on popping the big question! Upon arrival at the resort, Steve quickly got ready before dinner to "grab a drink" with Sarah's dad. Luckily, Sarah isn't the quickest at getting ready, and Steve had some time to scout the perfect proposal spot and grab the ring.

As the couple headed to dinner, Steve stopped Sarah to take a picture with the beautiful ocean behind them. And just like that, Steve was down on one knee! The best part yet, Steve's parents had also flown down to the island for the big surprise and (literally) popped out of the bushes.

The surprises didn't end there. While in Curacao, Sarah's family planned an engagement photoshoot for the couple around the island - an adventure the two will never forget. Upon returning back to NYC, the couple celebrated their engagement with family and friends at two surprise parties.

Sarah and Steve are extremely grateful to be joined by family and friends on their next journey. Cheers to the future Mr. and Mrs. Papsin!
