What to do after reception?
We recommend that no matter what you do, go back closer to the city center. East Garfield Park (the neighborhood where the ceremony and reception take place) is not known for its night life. The spots we've listed here are all downtown. Our shuttle service from the reception will start making trips at 9:45 PM direct to the Congress Plaza Hotel. Reception ends at 11 PM.
Flight Club
An upscale bar with great food and throwing darts. Located in the loop close to River North. They do take walk-ins, but no guarantees there will be space at a board. Closes at midnight.
Half Sour
Good bar, GREAT food. Excellent full meals, as well as brunch. About a 10 min walk from the Congress Plaza. Closes at 2 AM.
2Twenty2 Tavern
An upscale city bar just a 7 minute walk from the Congress Plaza Hotel. Closes at 3 AM.
TAK Korean Bistro & Karaoke
A chic speakeasy pocha lounge with authentic Korean food and full service bar. They have private Karaoke rooms, which you will need to reserve, but they are often available day-of. Only a 12 min walk from the Congress Plaza. Closes at 1 AM.
Kitty O'Sheas
Traditional bar featuring Irish pub fare, beer, wine and live entertainment inside the Hilton Chicago. Just a 4 minute walk from the Congress Plaza. Closes 1 AM.
Roots Handmade Pizza
Fun rooftop bar, 21+. Great vibes, good pizza. About a 10 min walk from the Congress Plaza hotel. Closes 11 PM.
First Draft
Brick- & wood-accented hangout with lots of TVs, American grill fare & rotating craft brews. A 10 min walk from Congress Plaza. Closes 3 AM.
