Jake and Sarah met in college when they both attended the University of St. Thomas. While they had a few encounters through mutual friends in the early years, they didn't really start to become friends until the summer going into their junior year. After talking consistently for a few weeks, Jake asked Sarah out on their first date to French Meadow Bakery in St. Paul, Minnesota. Fast forward only five days, Jake and Sarah, with a few other friends, set out on their first of many spontaneous road trips together to go hiking in Colorado. Talk about an elaborate second date! They quickly made their relationship official... and found their favorite adventure buddy.

Jake and Sarah went to Florida with Sarah's family over J-term! They played LOTS of Contract Rummy, which quickly became a staple card game in their relationship.

They went on a spring break trip with friends to Las Vegas, Zion National Park, Grand Canyon, and more. Angel’s Landing is no joke!

Fast forward through all the hard work and chaos of taking classes during a pandemic... Jake and Sarah finally both graduated from UST with degrees in Physics and Mechanical Engineering, respectively. Also during this time, Jake commissioned with the US Air Force and earned his spot to attend Undergraduate Pilot Training in Oklahoma starting in March 2023. Additionally, Sarah accepted her dream job with Medtronic as a Mechanical Design Engineer based in Minnesota.

Before full-time jobs started, Jake and Sarah set off on another long road trip to hike and camp in several National Parks. Starting in Minnesota, they made their way to the Badlands, Yellowstone, Grand Tetons, Glacier, and ended in Banff before coming back home. They were able to find all 50 US license plates, and even several Canadian ones too!

Sarah cheered on Jake as he coached the Waconia freshman football team! Go Wildcats!

Jake and Sarah convinced both of their parents to all go on a trip to Hawaii together! A true week in paradise!

Cheering for Minnesota sports quickly became a bonding activity for Jake and Sarah. They were able to go to the Vikings playoff game in 2023 only to be let down with a loss. Every good Minnesota sports fan knows this feeling a little too well. 2026 is gonna be our year - Skol to the Bowl!

The next chapter of their story began: Jake moved to Oklahoma. Sarah helped move Jake into his new house, and they became determined to see each other at least every month - and they did!

Jake started settling into his new life in Oklahoma and began training on the T-6. Sarah also got a cute photoshoot out of the deal, so it was a win-win!

Jake and Sarah celebrated Christmas with their families in Minnesota and Florida! Meet Rudolphin ;)

After several months of intense training on the T-6, Jake graduated from UPT and officially became a US Air Force Pilot. They celebrated at a formal ceremony in Oklahoma with several family and friends coming into town. Up next... training on the T-38s.

They celebrated 4th of July in Keystone, Colorado with friends! They had to go on at least one hike, of course!

With training on the T-38 complete, Jake found out his next assignment is to become a FAIP (First Assignment Instructor Pilot) and will be based in Oklahoma for a few more years! Jake and Sarah are excited to continue their life in Oklahoma together, and are gearing up to become true Okies! #FAIPmafia

They spent a week together near Palm Springs, California relaxing, hiking, visiting the zoo, golfing, and oh yeah, going on an amazing hot air balloon ride! Truly the experience of a lifetime!

For Sarah's birthday and Christmas present, Jake surprised Sarah with a trip to one of his favorite places, New York City - a spot that's been on her bucket list for a long time too! Little did Sarah know, Jake had something more up his sleeve. On New Year's Eve, Jake took Sarah to the top of the Rockefeller Center and delivered the biggest surprise of all: a proposal!!! Of course Sarah eagerly said yes! They are both so excited for this next chapter as fiancés and are so blessed that God brought them together! Cheers to the future Mr. and Mrs. Fleming!
