The Story of Us

Our love story is unique, wonderful, and never gave up…just like us.Ian and I met for the very first time when we were both in college; I remember initially seeing him and automatically knew that he was special. We ran into each other around campus and during other social events a few times before going on our first date. However, our date was not the best, it was filled with a lot of nervous talking (from me) and bad Johnny Carinos. Soon after our date, we decided to part ways for the summer, and see each other around next year. The fall semester began, and we still hadn't really seen each other because we were doing our own thing. As the semester progressed, one of my friends started seeing this great guy, who just so happened to be Ian's best friend. Soon after, my friend asked if I wanted to go hang out with Ian and his best friend; I figured that Ian and I had left on a good note, so why not? As soon as Ian and I saw each other, sparks flew and it was like I was reunited with an old friend. We laughed about our bad date, had great conversation the whole night, and decided to keep seeing each other. Our relationship grew stronger and stronger from that day, and we both couldn't be more thankful for the little coincidences that God perfectly planned to bring us together. The ProposalIan had planned a super, secret surprise trip for my birthday; he didn't tell me where, but gave me two hints: I would need my passport and it would be warm. September 14th (the day we were leaving) finally arrived, and I found out that he had planned a trip to Cancun! I was so excited; this was the most perfect destination to go for my birthday. I couldn't have asked for a better first day in Cancun, we relaxed by the beach and just enjoyed each other's company. That night, Ian had planned a dinner for us, which again, was a surprise. We got to the restaurant that we were supposed to be having dinner at, but the waiter didn't seat us at a table inside, he took us around the side of the restaurant to this private, beautiful table set up on the beach. Before we sat down, Ian asked if I wanted to take a picture by the sunset, and before I knew it he was down on one knee asking me to marry him. I couldn't believe it; my heart was racing a million miles per hour. Of course I said yes, I couldn't have been happier! We spent the rest of the night soaking in the fact that we were finally going to be husband and wife!

My Ol' Cait is the first friend I had at TLU; she is the reason that college was so much fun! From stealing peanut butter from hein to ding-dong ditching people in our dorms, and through all of our other antics, I am so glad to have this one by my side!&nbsp;
