It was 6/15/2023, a year before our wedding date. Sarah had just arrived at Camp Bighorn after submitting her final paper for her high school graduation. David was already at camp where he had just recently finished shaving his hair off. That day we met in passing but the more familiar introduction came a couple days later while on a "family group" outing. Sarah and David were out with their group rafting when David went up on the shoreline and picked some flowers. When he came down, David saw Sarah and asked her to hold the flowers he picked. Later Sarah asked if Davis wanted them back... he didn't and thus began Sarah's crush on David.
It would take til the end of the summer for David to find out Sarah was interested. (through the help of some nosy friends). 2 months after we met we were officially dating.
Now the beginning of our relationship was unique in a lot of ways. In the first month we experienced a major wildfire (which caused Sarah some lung issues), going on a backpacking trip, a rafting trip, and a canoe trip. Within the first 3 months we had white water kayaked together, gone on a 21 day backpacking trip together, and most importantly David went home with Sarah one weekend to meet her family.
After spending a total of 5 months at camp together, we decided to move to Washington. Sarah settled back into life living with her family and David stayed at his brothers house in Snohomish.
After flying to Pennsylvania to meet most of David's family, Sarah ended up finding a perfect apartment for David in Sultan.
Just a few weeks after David moved in, he took Sarah on a drive out to Whidbey Island and popped the question during a beautiful sunset. Exactly 6 months after they'd first met.
