Sarah and Tyler first met at Kalamazoo College in 2014. They sat next to each other in a class taught by the late Dr. Jason Yost, Sarah's much-missed mentor. Outside of class, Tyler wooed Sarah with his cooking skills, often bringing homemade meals to her while she studied in the library.

As the years went on, Sarah and Tyler's lives became ever more intertwined despite geographical distance. June, their beloved lab, joined the family in 2018.

Tyler proposed in January of 2019, just before they moved to Bloomington together. They bought their first home in 2023 and have since spent every weekend learning how to DIY.

The couple is grateful to their parents, Ann & David Schmitt and Kim & Hank Nichols. This happy day would not have been possible without their love, support, and generosity.
