Our Wedding

Andrew and I met while working in the laboratory at Texas Health Southwest Hospital. We hit it off and became close friends immediately. Our first date was completely unintentional. We had made plans to go to dinner and a movie with some work friends. Our friends canceled on the day of, but we still decided to go anyway. We ate at Pho and Grill (my first pho experience) and went to see the movie IT. We had the best time and I knew early on I had found someone truly special.

First Date (Sarah's POV)

On the morning of the proposal, Andrew went on a run and came back with flowers. Later, he took me on a long bike ride (with R2D2 and Big Red) through our neighborhood in Fort Worth. When we got home, we decided to go out for dinner (he told me we were going to Grimaldi’s). He got ready really quickly and was just watching me while I was drying my hair. I felt him growing impatient, so I finished getting ready and we headed out. He drove to the Trinity Trail (instead of Grimaldi’s), so I got a little suspicious. He told me he wanted to go on a walk before dinner. We walked down the trail and stopped at a bench on the river. He set down his GoPro on the bench and I felt time stop as he proposed. I looked out over the river and my family was waving from the other side. The next day he took me to see Hamilton at Bass Hall!

The Proposal (Sarah's POV)

I chose the Trinity Trail because of the time we spend there. In the beginning of our relationship, we were fortunate to live right off the trail. I have spent countless hours running and riding on the trails. In our spare time, Sarah and I would walk around the paths talking about anything and everything. This place is a signature Fort Worth token that means a lot to us.

The Proposal (Andrew's POV)

The ring was given by my Aunt Nenet. It was my Great Grandmother’s ring that has spanned multiple generations of Abrenica’s and now traveled around the world to be on Sarah’s hand. It is a priceless part of our family’s history and I cannot thank my family enough for letting us enjoy it.

Thank you to all who have been a part of our lives leading up to this. Work friends, cycling friends, race friends, paintball friends, college friends, Austin friends, Denton friends, Fort Worth friends, new family members, Chip and Rocky, everyone. We can’t wait to celebrate with you!
