Josh had been listening to the Prancing Pony Podcast for a little while. The show was still in its early seasons, and announced that they were setting up a Discord Server for people that supported the Podcast on Patreon. And on January 3 of 2020, Josh decided to join.

A few months later, and five hundred and eighty three miles away, Sarah joined as well. We laughed, had fun, interacted in many of the shenanigans of that group. Many jokes, shared moments, memes, and movie nights hanging out with our friends passed.

One of those moments, was a longstanding friendly rivalry between two camps within the Discord server. What does one call a meal set between dinner/supper and breakfast? Much discussion and hilarity had evolved into two warring factions; Team Sukfast, and Team Brupper. Sarah, always the wisest, aligned herself with Team Brupper from the start. Josh, was less couth and aligned his tastebuds with Team Sukfast. At least, at first.

It was a fateful day in 2022; June 14th, in fact. Josh was bored and had access to Photoshop. In a few brief moments, he whipped together a just for fun logo to represent Team Sukfast in the Prancing Pony chat group. It was quickly adopted by the group moderators into a custom emoji and sticker. Hail Sukfast.

Sarah, being the wise and diplomatic woman she is, asked that Josh create a similar image for the rival faction, Brupper. As a proud supporter of Sukfast, but also a firm supporter of equal representation, Josh decided to comply. But that didn't stop him from being a little mischievous with his design.

Both Logos featured the rearing white Pony on a green field with the text "Team Sukfast" or "Team Brupper" superimposed over it. But the Brupper logo was a much darker green, as Brupper is the "Dark Side" of the rivalry.

When this was coyly pointed out to Sarah, the Queen of Snark didn't miss a beat. She rightly pointed out that the Dark Side has cookies, in reference to the popular joke, "Come to the Dark Side, we have cookies." and suggested that Josh should join her and leave the error of Sukfast loyalty behind.

Cookies are always a temptation to anyone with a soul. And Josh was no exception. After all, the way to a man's heart is through his stomach. He called her bluff, and asked her when he could expect the cookies.

Sarah said that anyone was welcome to come visit her in Florida and she'd make them cookies. So Josh planned a visit.

A couple weeks later, he was driving from South Carolina down to Florida, camera bag packed, plans made to visit the Tampa Zoo and take pictures of the animals with Sarah and her roommate.

It was their first time meeting in person, and they had a blast. But when it came time for Josh to return home, there was a small problem. Sarah hadn't made good on her cookie offer.

In a moment of improvisation, Sarah handed Josh a box of leftover Chips Ahoy and wished him safe travels. They were very good cookies, and they sustained him most of the way home.

Upon returning to South Carolina, Josh became a staunch supporter of Team Brupper, having been properly bribed by a gorgeous woman.

The rest, is history.

They kept talking after that, getting to know one another outside the Prancing Pony group, and... well, here we are.
