Our Wedding

Some love stories start with sparks… ours started with karaoke in a basement, a teenage crush, and an old Jeep exhaust. We first met through my brother Jason who, funny enough, is both of our best friend. I was 13, Dylan was 15, and the second he walked into my mom’s basement looking for Jason, I froze mid-song at the karaoke machine. I turned to my younger brothers and said the most certain words I’ve ever spoken: “Who *was* that? He’s going to be mine one day.” Our first date was classic us…cutting the exhaust off Dylan’s old Jeep Cherokee, laughing, sneaking kisses, and probably inhaling way too many exhaust fumes. But something clicked that day, and it never really un-clicked. We’ve been through a lot together. We got married young, built a life, and then, life happened. We separated, divorced, and spent four years apart. But even during those years, something stayed. A pull. A knowing. And when we found our way back to each other, it was like no time had passed only this time, we were stronger, wiser, and more certain than ever. Over 17 years of knowing each other. 12 years of being together through the beautiful, the hard, the healing, and now, the full-circle. One of our favorite memories is our surprise trip to Maggie Valley, hiking through waterfalls, breathing in fresh mountain air, and remembering what it feels like to simply be together, in peace and joy. The proposal wasn’t flashy, but it was us. Dylan was tattooing my sleeve when he looked at me and said, “You know I love you, right?” Naturally, I responded with, “What did you do?” But what he did… was tell me the truth. “I’ve always loved you. Even when we were apart, I still loved you. I want to be with you forever. You are perfect to me.” And now, we’re doing it again. Saying “I do” again, but this time, it’s not just a promise. It’s a knowing. A choice. A forever we’ve fought for, and found again. We can’t wait to celebrate this next chapter with the people who’ve walked with us through it all especially Jason, the best friend and brother who unknowingly introduced us to our soulmate all those years ago.

Crystal and I met through Dylan and her fiancé Jay, who is not only Dylan’s best man, but also his uncle and very first best friend. We instantly connected, bonding over our shared love for these two incredible (and sometimes ridiculous) men. Since then, Crystal has become so much more than a friend, she's been a constant source of laughter, support, and understanding. No matter how long it’s been, every time we’re together, it feels like no time has passed. I couldn’t imagine this day without her by my side as my maid of honor.

My first girl best friend and cousin, Rachael has been by my side since day one. Through life’s biggest highs and lows, distance hasn’t changed our bond. She’s one of the strongest women I know and someone I deeply admire. Proud mama to baby Clyde and wife to Grayson, I’m so grateful to have her standing with me on this special day.

My oldest cousin and lifelong cheerleader. Despite her busy life as a corporate mom of two and amazing fiancé to AP, Brittany always makes time for our mental health check-ins. We share a special bond, endless laughs, and a fierce drive to lift each other up, no matter what. She’s one of the strongest, most inspiring women I know.

My soul sister and biggest supporter. We met at Amazon six years ago and have been inseparable since. She’s loyal, kind, and the calm in my chaos. A new mama to sweet Charli and wife to Matt. She’s everything I admire in a friend.

Dylan’s best friend of over 17 years…and also Sarah’s brother. Yep, he’s the one who unknowingly introduced us and kick-started this whole love story. Jason and Dylan have been through it all together, from life’s hardest moments to unforgettable adventures (including that iconic dirt bike on top of the roof of a Jeep in the McDonald’s drive-thru). Loyal, hilarious, and family through and through, there’s no one better to stand beside Dylan.

Dylan’s uncle and his very first best friend. These two have been like peanut butter and jelly since day one…looking alike, acting alike, and always cracking each other up. Dylan has looked up to Jay his whole life, and their bond runs deep through shared memories, fishing trips, and nonstop laughter. Jay is a proud dad to Bryson and Lacey and is engaged to the beautiful Crystal. He’s more than family, he’s one of Dylan’s greatest inspirations

Jay Smith 

Corey isn’t just a friend…he’s family, and a core part of our circle. He’s been in our lives, mine, Jason’s, and Dylan’s for over 20 years. Jason and Corey met back in middle school, and Dylan’s mom, Stephanie, used to babysit Corey and his sister when they were little. From that point on, Corey became one of us. He’s more like a brother than anything else, and having him stand with us means the world.

Dylan’s one and only nephew, Lane looks up to him in every way and even shares a bit of his style and spirit. No matter what Dylan’s day holds, Lane loves tagging along, especially for rides and outdoor adventures. Their bond is built on a shared love of cars, dirt bikes, and go-karts…plus a whole lot of trash-talking that keeps their adventures even more fun. Lane is not just family, but a true partner in crime.

As we prepare for our big day, we want to share a little about the incredible people standing beside us…not just at the wedding, but throughout our lives. Our wedding party isn’t just a group of friends and family; they’re the heart and soul of our journey, our chosen family who shape us, support us, and make us laugh until it hurts. From the very beginning, Jason is the spark that brought us together…he’s not only Dylan’s best friend of 17 years but also Sarah’s brother, the one who unknowingly started this whole beautiful story. Alongside him is Corey, who has been like a brother to all of us for over 20 years, tied to our lives in ways that feel like fate. Jay, Dylan’s uncle and first best friend, is a guiding light and partner-in-crime since childhood, sharing countless fishing trips and hilarious memories that remind us where we come from. Lane, Dylan’s one and only nephew, carries that same adventurous spirit and endless energy…plus some legendary trash talk to keep the fun alive. On Sarah’s side, Crystal, her maid of honor, is more than a best friend; she’s a sister by choice, someone who has walked beside her through every chapter of life with unwavering love, laughter, and strength. Their bond runs deep, built on years of shared memories, honest conversations, and a fierce loyalty that can’t be shaken. Rachael and Brittany, her bridesmaids and cousins, are lifelong confidantes and champions, supporting her with strength, laughter, and endless love. Amber, also a bridesmaid and soul sister, is the peaceful heart in a noisy world, a loyal friend who has been her rock for six years. Together, this incredible group is a tapestry of love, strength, and friendship. Each person holds a unique place in our hearts, and we are endlessly grateful for the role they play in our lives. They remind us that love isn’t just about two people… it’s about the community that surrounds them, lifts them, and celebrates with them. We couldn’t imagine saying “I do” without these amazing souls by our side. To our wedding party: thank you for being family in every sense of the word.
