After weeks of phone calls filled with laughter and a series of hilariously mismatched schedules, they finally met for their first date at Stirr in Deep Ellum. Sparks flew, and it became clear—this wasn’t just a date; it was the start of something extraordinary.

At the time, Benny had barely unpacked his bags after moving to Dallas, but fate (and possibly some Louisiana voodoo) had been working overtime. There’s a good chance their paths briefly crossed back in 2015 while they were both living in New Orleans—proof that destiny has a great sense of humor.

From the moment they met, Sarah and Benny were inseparable. Neither of them even considered dating anyone else—why would they when they’d already found their person? A year into their relationship, Benny moved in, officially becoming a proud Cat Dad to Sarah’s beloved fur baby, De La, who now rules the house and Benny’s heart.

On September 10, 2023, Benny took things to the next level. While hiking on a stunning bridge in Vail, Colorado, he dropped to one knee and asked Sarah to be his forever hiking buddy. Spoiler alert: she said yes!
