We met the summer of 2014 while working at the A.E Finley YMCA as camp counselors. We instantly became friends and early on knew we found something special.

The summer we met was Steven's second summer working at the Y and this was my first summer. Summer was long and hot but without it, we might not have ever met. Steven attended Leesville Road High School and I attended Cardinal Gibbons High School. Steven was a year above me so while I finished up my senior year of high school, he went on to attend NC State University. This first year of our relationship was a little tricky with us being at different points in our lives but we stuck with it. I graduated from Gibbons and went on to attend Meredith College. Lucky for us our two colleges were not far apart.

We both graduated in May of 2018 and made the decision to relocate to Columbia, SC so Steven could attend graduate school at the University of South Carolina. Before making our move we decided to have a going away dinner party with our closest friends. Steven came up with a clever plan and surprised me with the sweetest proposal surrounded by our favorite people. Of course, I said yes!

We have since moved to Columbia and have begun this wonderful new adventure of engaged life.

We waited as long as we could before making a decision on how best to approach our January, 2021 wedding. While we know you have all been eager to hear from us about our plans, we have been waiting to see how the virus would continue to impact our wedding. With the amount of uncertainty that is still present, we have made the difficult decision to dramatically scale back our wedding. We want to make sure that we are taking the right steps to keep our loved ones safe.

While we're saddened that we have had to keep the size of our wedding guest list quite modest, we would like to encourage you all to join us virtually as we exchange our vows. We will be creating a Facebook group to invite you all to watch our live streamed ceremony.
